I know typically the only place where this kind of split sleep routine could be found is out in the field during a military op, etc.. 1 or 2 sleeping for 2 hours, and 1 or 2 "on watch" until the 2 hours is up and they get their turn.. Typically it would work out to about a 4 hour night of sleep for someone..
Another good example would be a tradesperson working a job.. I know myself when on a long project I would typically nap from 8 pm to maybe 10 or 11pm on a couch etc. Then get up for 15 min or 30 min and then head to bed for the rest of the night..
