Reports about producer Harvey Weinstein's decades-long sexual abuse and harassment has rocked Hollywood, with many of entertainment's biggest names speaking out about their treatment at the hands of this man.

I would like to ask are people surprised by this? I can say I am. I'm shocked at the scale of abuse, the number of alleged victims is astounding. And the number of high paid/ A level stars.

Nothing has been a harsher reminder that some industries profit on the exploitation of women.

Tara I think its the casting couch that has been taken to a new height with threats take them down if they do not do what he wants, which would mean them being out of show business for there whole life.

What about his staff around him? That sent actress' to rooms with him, knowing what he was like? I find them nearly as disgusting as him.

If a woman allows this to happen and says nothing she has now allowed it to continue, to hurt other women. You think that's a good thing?

By all accounts tho a good lot of women did speak out and were either ignored or silenced.

You also have to factor in the 'shame' feeling. A bet a fair few would of blamed themselves for going to the room, for the meal with him etc.

There seems so many cases with different outcomes.

The only thing we really have that cannot be taken away from us is our dignity, our integrity. To give it up for anything is just wrong.

The shame factor? They blamed themselves for going, for knowing what would most likely happen? Then why did they go. They went for the money. I don't

It is a horribly sad story that makes me angry on so many levels.
That there are those who abuse their power is not surprising. We see it everywhere. that is a hard, sad truth, that is impossible to excuse.
The hypocrisy of Hollywood to be so fond of preaching to the rest of us what we should believe and how we should run our lives while harboring the likes of Weinstein is sickening, if not surprising.
A LOT of people enabled his behavior, and covered it up.
Let us hope that they become part of the story, by name.
