  • Political thread: Where is Pres. Trump taking us all?

    https://www.google.ca/amp/s/mobile.n...ompeo.amp.html

After reading this crucial news and ofcourse others related to the direction political things are moving, am really concerned about the world's safety!

Where are we going ppl? Actually, where is Trump taking us all?!

First of all, about this subject specifically, Mr. Rex Tillerson is a respectful man and good negotiator as secretary of state.

Second, What a very bad way and no respect by Trump to fire him with a tweet!! then calling him later to inform him by phone. What is this rude disrespectful way that is totally out of our behavior in dealing with each other. I know many of you guys might say, nothing new about Trump! But this repeated way is becoming unbearable in a world that needs humanity and peace more than anytime, and here comes the danger of Trump decision.

Mr. Rex Tillerson was a diplomatic secretary of state, maybe this is why got fired besides his opposition to Trump political views especially related to relations with allies and "enemies"!

Replacing him with Mike pompeo(CIA director) who is known to have same radical views as Trump, might be the first step to a more offensive action toward world conflicts, starting from Syria to Iran to Russia to China and God knows what countries more after Rex Tillerson had set good achievements in different cases esp. new open page(probably now!) with North korea, as you can read in the link above.

The world is of much need for calm, relaxed, wise, diplomatic ppl. Honestly, really concerned of our world in following months as all reports show we are heading to something really bad, despite many see it as just dogs barking to show who have the higher voice and improve negotiation positioning but these consistent changes in Trump admin do not give any hope but the opposite, from a man that can one day wake up with a crazy decision and God help us!

Careful of believing the spin of the facts, by the media.
They want you to believe, what they write.

My preference is business experienced individuals, not lawyers playing politician. Seen enough of their doings to want a change.

Every administration regularly changes appointments, rather than leaving someone there that is raising concerns, or where a different personality would be better.

Winging it ? Sure, never show your cards, it ruins your bargaining chances. That is what previous 'politicians' have done. Results were sometimes, minimal.

I Agree that Rex was fired in a most disrespectful way, but he didn’t have the same opinion on the direction foreign affairs should be headed such as reversing the Iranian Accord or rushing into negotiations with the rocket man. He also called Trump a moron. As Trump said, they are not on the same wave length.

I have also heard that Tillerson’s management style was abrasive and not appreciated by the career diplomats in the State Department. Apparently, there remains 36 vacancies in top overseas embassies, including South Korea, and six vacancies in top positions in the State Departnent.

Seems Trump had good reason to fire Tillerson only Trump did it in a most in-compassionate way which is Trump’s famous endearing personality.

Whether you're pro or anti-trump, he factually has substantially more turnover and more vacancies than prior administrations. You can find historical comparisons if you look. How you feel about those facts is a different matter.

Trump is fairly far into the nationalist/protectionist/isolationist end of things. Whether you feel that's radical or not is again, subject to personal opinion.

I, for one, don't think his position on tariffs and trade deals will be good for the economy. There may be some very localized regional effects that are beneficial.

              Another Political Question:

Does the election result in south eastern Pennsylvania in which the Democrat, Conner Lamb beat the Republican candidate in a red Congressional district bode poorly for Trump’s 2018 re-election campaign?

Your such a picky perfectionist. How about the effect on the results of the 2018 mid term elections or the 2020 presidential results?

Did you look at Connor Lambs record? He was strong pro union in a pro union area. Saccone was not pro union and said so. Not a smart thing when you're running in a union district. Lamb was also pro second amendment, said he would not vote for Pelosi for speaker and was pro life. He was a Republican running as a Democrat with his positions.

That's the difference between a buisness man and a politition. I've heard it many times, "If you can't get the job done I'll find someone that will". I think the government needs to adopt more of the "get things done" approach if they want to accomplish anything.

I have been a high level leader in a multi-billion dollar business. This is not in-line with my experience. I've also been very surprised at how relatively inexperienced some of the people were. You're not going to find very much of that at successful businesses. The risk becomes too great and you tend to favor those with a more proven track record.

Regarding lamb, the question, of course, is does this equal a trend? Are dems +20 heading into the midterm? I doubt you would find many serious analysts who would suggest such a thing. Just as you will find few who will tell you straight faced that there is no movement towards dems going on. How big it is, is subject to interpretation. I think exit polling in many close recent races is revealing. Moore may have won if the scandal hadn't come out, but it still would've been much closer than prior races there. Exit polls showed weaker support for trump and republicans in general. I think there's a natural tendency to over assign swings to one thing or another that we care about. Or make justifications for things not going the way you want. But if you look closely I believe there's something there.

I don't see Trump has any foreign policy, just winging among many areas...

Honestly, am against the current foreign policy regarding allies and "enemies" despite it's a long inheritance from past administrations but holding on it is participating in same wrong path that brought nothing over decades except wars in that fuckedup middleeast region while our main goal must be peace, and firstly a final solution for the Palestine- Israel long conflict. Announcing Jerusalem the capital while working as a middleman or "neutral" negotiator was the biggest mistake. But ofcourse we know who's behind that than his son in law!!

                            Who are the allies?!

Saudi arabia the biggest dictatorship in the world where women have no rights!! Kingdom named by name of a family. No democracy. No merge btw men and women. No freedom.

Killed thousands of ppl mostly children and women in yemen.

How are they better than Iran?

Saudi arabia have no guts to attack Iran that is just 25km from its border, so it pushes Israel to do so and instigate the US to more tough negotiations over nuclear program.

Egypt, a new dictator brought as president, he shutup all others who wanted to run to presidency, brought a guy from his team to run up with him, so it does not appear a clear scandal. He shut down opposition tv stations, journalists, tv shows presenters. Everyone who contradicts him.

You like it or not, in Syria the regime with Russia and Iran.. their allies.. fighting Isis from the start, so why is Trump working against that. Anyone really believe until now that there are real rebels in Syria?!
90% are ISIS who are mostly Saudi terrorists!!

Anyone knows that Trump admin was working with Iranian forces in Iraq to clean Isis, why is it different in Syria. Who are the substitution for the regime, islamic radicals? Or Chaos as in Lybia and Iraq!

This is a good view too:
