Miami Florida

I am planning a trip to Orlando for a couple days then Miami (South Beach) for a week during Spring Break (early March) for myself (solo traveling).
If anyone has any advice for me fun/safety wise, I'm all ears.

I am also considering to live in Florida if I like it and can find a job there, if any one who lives or used to live in Florida has a few words, I'm all ears.

or visit Texas, lots of jobs most everywhere. Selecting any area in any state is always a challenge.

Keep any eye on areas that don't get whacked by STORMS/TORNADOES.

Right, Texas is definitely an option, though I actually prefer liberal states/cities (I'm not liberal ironically, but I appreciate their "open-mindedness").. hopefully I can afford their painful taxes though.
