    By Michael Smith - Jun 29, 2010

Just before sunset on April 10, 2006, a DC-9 jet landed at the international airport in the port city of Ciudad del Carmen, 500 miles east of Mexico City. As soldiers on the ground approached the plane, the crew tried to shoo them away, saying there was a dangerous oil leak. So the troops grew suspicious and searched the jet.

They found 128 black suitcases, packed with 5.7 tons of cocaine, valued at $100 million. The stash was supposed to have been delivered from Caracas to drug traffickers in Toluca, near Mexico City, Mexican prosecutors later found. Law enforcement officials also discovered something else.

After retiring in 2000, I worked part time for B of A in a suburban branch. We were constantly urged to be on the lookout for customers making cash deposits aggregating over $10,000, even if made over a span of several days. We made it very difficult for many of our legitimate customers to make large cash deposits. I guess the rules were relaxed for seven and eight figure deposits.

Its hard to even imagine the amount of money thats discussed in that article. The open border we have really helps those guys out. Of course, according to some, our borders are quite secure........

That congressman's behavior and attitude towards his constituents were despicable. A "public servant" he's not!

Well, after reading this, I can only imagine what happens in my country, where we have politicians who were proven to be corrupt and still kept their jobs. One example is José Sarney, former president and currently senate president, who said "I'll not leave this place" AND IS still there.
And our own president, Lula, is now helping Bolivia to build a highway in the border that will, obviously, make the transport of cocaine between our countries much easier, even though he says it was supposed to be a highway connecting Brasil and Chile. But he is actually only connecting the highway to some cocaine producers villages in Bolivia, as satellite images showed. Strange, huh?

In our case, THE GOVERNMENT IS HELPING THE DRUG TRAFFIC!!
