Researchers at the Australia's University of New South Wales discovered that female test subjects found men with heavy beards more alluring than clean-shaven blokes, and rated them more highly for parenting ability and healthiness.
Beards — you can't live with them and you can't live without them, it seems.

Seems beards are trendier now in the younger crowd. When I was on Match, I posted pics of myself with and without my goatee and said my new gf would get to pick whether I shaved it or not. Women's comments were pretty mixed but more liked the goatee.

I just go with my gf's preference and she really likes my goatee as long as it's trimmed fairly short. She likes facial hair so long as it's not sparse (dude can't grow a man beard), too long, or trimmed into some unusual shape.

I agree that beards have been very trendy in the past +-5 years. My former partner liked me more with a beard on and said that I look like an 18-year old when shaved (she wasn't wrong).

My girlfriend says I look better shaved, it makes me look more civilized.

As for my preference, I really don't care. I look great either way.

I had been cleaned shaved for the past few years, but when I forgot to pack a razor on vacation I let it grow. My girl definitely likes it and at this point I can’t shave it without upsetting her. Just gotta keep it trim, whatever the ladies like right?

I had been cleaned shaved for the past few years, but when I forgot to pack a razor on vacation I let it grow. My girl definitely likes it and at this point I can’t shave it without upsetting her. Just gotta keep it trim, whatever the ladies like right?

I also had an unplanned start to my goatee. I had 10 days off and decided not to shave, with full intent to shave the day I went back to work. A few days in I shaved all but the goatee part just messing around. By the end, she and my daughter loved the goatee, so I kept it. That was over a decade ago.

Yeah, every once in a while I think about shaving it and my gf always talks me out of it.

Both my sons have beards. Prior to growing the beards, they looked similar, but with the beards they look more like twins. Apparently, beards cover some distinctive features.

Similar experience. I was taking some time off and walked into the office to pick something up. Someone mentioned my beard and I said, "Ya, I haven't bothered to shave but it'll be gone before I'm back to work". The hot chick shouted out, "No! Leave it!" and gave me a bit of a look. She's now my wife and I keep the beard exactly as she likes it

Depends on the length of the beard, stubble to short beard many will find attractive, a long beard will only get you respect from other dudes, women don't like it.

Ya sure the few middle aged women and girls with daddy issues that are into beards, but in our western society today, a big beard is not really that attractive to most women. But at the end of the day, if you're hot and charming, girls will come to you regardless if you have a long beard.
