Last week my wife was unable to access her Verizon.net e-Mail on any of her devices - desktop, I-pad, or I-phone. She called Verizon for assistance and was told to contact AOL who now hosted her e-Mail.
She was transferred to the AOL tech line and after 45 minutes, the phone was answered by a guy with a distinctive Indian accent. He advised that he could not help her, but would transfer her to tech support only if she agreed to sign up for a tech support plan starting at a cost of $5 for 10 days.
Today, we visited the Best Buy Geek Squad where the friendly tech downloaded a free AOL app which allowed her to access her e-Mail account. Took about 8 minutes to complete the task. Yeh to the Geek Squad. Boo to AOL.
