Using Proxy to login

Is anyone in this forum using a proxy to login?I can't login normally bcoz the place where i live,most sites with adult contents are blocked so i use ultrasurf.I have heard that it contains a malware in it,plus i want other alternatives to ultrasurf.I am sure someone besides me alse faces this problem.So what proxy,vpn or whatever you use to login?

I use CC proxy and Peer Block. Everyone here should have Peer Block. It blocks almost all IP addresses from entering your computer. It's especially useful if you use P2P downloading sites. Check it out. I have no anti-virus software and a good Proxy coupled with Peer Block is like a bullet proof vest under knight armor. It sure does. In fact that's what I would primarily use it for. It will actually block the government from accessing your computer. You'd be surprised too when you look at the log what other companies are creepin around the net.

If you already have a firewall, your ports should be closed. You can check online with a free port-scan. My favorite free firewall is comodo up to version 3.14 (I hate the new 4.0 version, I think it's crap). I also like adbytes malaware. Places like virustotal and jotti are good to scan single files that you think are suspicious (these types of places scan with 20-30 different anti-viruses & give you a result).

Peerblock only needs to be on while you're downloading torrents if you've got a good firewall. You can then turn it off when you're done downloading, since that port should be closed anyway once the application is closed.

Personally, I highly recommend setting up a sandbox for downloads--it can be annoying at first, but once you get used to it, it works great.

Setting Up A Virtual Sandbox for Downloading / Peer to Peer
If you have a fast, multi-core machine, with lots of ram, set up virtualbox or vmware on your computer. Now, install an operating system in your virtual machine and take a snapshot (so you can quickly restore it if it blows up)

Set up a network share folder between the virtual machine and your local machine (instructions vary based on your operating system, and which virual machine software you're using).

Set up your torrent client inside the virtual machine, and only download there. Once downloads are complete, move them to a network share folder which you create, which your main machine can also access. If you run a keygen or any program that doesn't absolutely have to run on your main machine, only do it inside the sandbox.
If the sandbox gets 'hacked' or stops working, just restore your snapshot.

Scan everything with an anti-virus before you run it. Don't execute anything that seems high risk.

I've been doing this on a windows 7, 64 bit machine (core I7, 4 gigs of ram), and it's never been infected. On the other hand, my Windows XP machine (which is slower) gets infected sometimes because I don't do this.

Actually a lot of experts say you don't even need an anti-virus, you just need a sandbox (I think they are going too far though...but still, I hope you get the picture!)
