So a museum in Washington has an" art " show and one part has a representation of the crucified Christ on the cross with ants crawling on the poor guy. Not to start trouble but only to understand, what if it was the prophet Mohammaed depicted? Would it have been shown at all?

Double Standard?

I agree as well.
The "logic" is that Christianity is so mainstream that bigotry against it is limited in its capacity to harm, whereas anything offensive against a minority group is much more dangerous. Of course Islam is a whole different beast because depiction of their sacred prophet is forbidden. But there is definitely a double standard.
edit: I would also like to add that christianity does get trashed so often because people that take issue with religion tend to manifest their attacks at Christianity, which as I pointed out is mainstream.

How about a Buddha with ants? He does not strike me as a neat eater. All thing being the same. It is bad juju to poke at peoples sacred beliefs. I'm not talking about any of the posts here, it's more about the artist and the exhibit. Minority's being repressed; that's news, mainstream being jabbed at, that's the norm. It hackles me a bit, (can you tell).

To me, this is not desecrating Christ or Christianity. Instead its a statement against the uncivilized fashion in which he was crucified. the first thing that comes to my mind is that it could be subversive anti-Jewish sentiment at the heart, since a lot of people tend to point fingers in that direction.
As for buddha, it would almost be prophetic to have him covered in ants, considering the mantra about all living beings and reincarnation.
