Pubic Hair Grooming with an Epilator

I currently wear my pubes shaven on balls and base of shaft, trimmed elsewhere to about 1/2" length. Girls always love my happy trail and I LOVE getting my balls sucked while I get jerked off so this seemed like the best compromise. At the moment I'm wet shaving them in the shower though in the past I have used a Scherna grooming kit (which I still use for trimming the long stuff) and a Seiko Cleanshave. I always found the wet shave to be the most effective and safest, occasionally I'd cut my sack with the Scherna (ouch!) and the Cleanshave never really got as close as the wetshave does for me.

My problem is that I'll often miss some hairs on my balls or shaft and on top of that my hair grows in fast so sometimes I can end up with nasty sharp stubble on the base of my dick which doesn't exactly please the ladies. After some research I found a neat, cheap (>$15/£15) little product called the Emjoi AP-9L Epi (the company also makes other models but this is both one of the cheapest and best reviewed).

It's an epilator which means that it is has rotating discs which you press against the skin and they pluck the hairs out. Apparently this removes the hair for a number of months!

Sounds too good to be true I know so I'm wondering if anyone here has ever tried an epilator like this?

The model I mentioned has 4 stars and 129 reviews currently on Amazon.com. If you search the reviews for it on Amazon for brazillian, bikini, etc you get back a lot of positive reviews so the device is definitely working for a lot of ladies pubic hair. Their site (Emjoi) also says 'Ideal for hair removal from even the most delicate areas' I haven't seen epilator devices mentioned anywhere on the site though so thought I'd let you all know.

Regardless, I think I'll take a splash and pick one of these up soon.

Got the epilator today. It's pretty fucking brutal! Basically the only way I could use it without twitching was by using an icepack to numb my dick. Even then it took my a while. Now the base of my cock is good and smooth though. Man does it suck on your balls I haven't done much of them. The good news is the pain doesn't last long but it's pretty sharp making it tricky. I think I might try doing my balls when a little drunk though. Apparently it hurts less the more you use it, which makes sense, so it should be quicker and easier next time around. I'll find out.

You can buy numbing topical cream to help with the pain levels.
they do say it does hurt less with time .. but they don't say how much time that takes ..
when i used an epilator .. it left me bruised even with ice..

Took about an hour just to do the base of my penis Pirate. Take into account I was learning how to use the device and that most of the time was numbing with ice however.

Numbing cream was precisely my idea also. I need to do some research and pick some up for the next session. My ball-skin is pretty tender, like it should be, but it's really stretchy too so the epilator pulls the follicle, pulling the skin, causing pain and doesn't always get the hair out. It's hard to get your scrotum to be really taut aswell - which it needs to be to pull the hair out swiftly. The results on the base of my penis were very,very good though and didn't hurt much with the ice pack.

The results and the financial cost are very good for this method but the time and effort needed are considerable. If I can dull the pain enough it just might be worth it however. I'm positive that the right mixture of ice, cream pills and booze can make this work and I'm going to put in the effort to try and make that happen.

I've ordered some Lidocaine (local skin anaesthetic) to try out on my balls...slightly nervous about that. Have to say I love how the base of my dick is perfectly smooth now though, it looks and feels great.

I found that Lidocaine is used by some men with premature ejaculation issues to numb the tip of their penis and that some woman with vagina pain issues also use it too numb parts of their vagina! So that's a reassuring sign. I will be using it topically also and non-prescription strength - still need to be careful with dosage though.

The Lidocaine is very cheap but I don't want to continuously be numbing my balls and I generally try to take as few drugs as possible. So I hope the rumours that epilation gets easier and less painful with time are true. In any case I will continue to epilate the base of my dick using ice to numb, I'm very happy with the results.

I have to say...judging by the shave jobs I inflicted on people's head and eyebrows as a drunken teenager I'm inclined to agree!

I definitely won't be mixing any alcohol with my Lidocaine though, that could seriously go wrong.

Okay, the Lidocaine finally arrived and I'm pleased to say it really works!. I didn't feel a thing on most of the hairs that I pulled out and there was no intense pain. I'll be using this technique for a good while.

Some notes:
- Make sure you don't exceed the maximum dosage and that it doesn't conflict with any other medication or conditions, the consequences can be grave if you don't
- I bled a little as the hair sometimes damages the skin when it is pulled out. Any scabs or inflammation have always disappeared within a couple of days. Make sure you use an antiseptic wash before and after epilation to avoid infection.
- As well as the other instances I found of people using Lidocaine to numb the genital area the leaflet that came with the spray notes that it is often used by doctors for the removal of genital warts, adding further credibility to it's safety.
- To prevent ingrown hairs make sure and wash the area epilated with an exfoliator, like a loofah, on a regular basis.

It's cheap, feels good and looks great. I won't be sure if it saves time over shaving in the shower for a while, new hairs take a week or two to grow in. Either way I still prefer the results over shaving.
