I have no idea where to post my query. I did a "Search" and checked Fora. Looked at "Injuries", but that's usually about jelquing exercise problems. However, I do need some advice please.
I have had a succession of back injuries over the years, motor cycles etc. Firefighting. I had surgery on a herniated disk, a "microdiscectomy at the L4/L5" four years ago. This was necessary because I had severe sciatica. My doctor assures me the nerves in the area, that were probably damaged, are not involved in erection and arousal. However, in certain coital positions, I lose my erection. When I'm prone, with my partner on top, I'm fine. Missionary position is OK initially, then I lose my erection. Occassionally I have a slight pain from the hip to the groin, on the left side and this almost always causes the loss of erection. I have tried Viagra etc, but these were unpleasant and I don't think they assist where there is trauma and damage. (Ie surgery etc and scarring, nerve damage.) Although I had severe sciatica before my surgery, I did not have erectile dysfunction. This has either occurred due to aging, surgery or both. I just hate the coincidence- surgery, then the ED.
I guess my problem is common, but the medicos seem to think that being able to walk is more important than sex. I would like both. I'm hoping that members may know people in similar situations. Perhaps some remedies and good outcomes. If I need more surgery, fine, but only if there is a point to it. Maybe there is an alternative medication. Please help.
