    Hi

I will be spending christmas with my family and extended family and my mac will invariably used by lots of people

I have private pictures of me and my girlfriend that obviously can't be seen but I don't know how to encrypt/password protect them

So, does anyone know how to encrypt 1 album in iphoto? I just want to encrypt one album, the others don't need any protection

    Thanks

Send me the instructions how to do this? I have always used a separate app File Lock and the entire app is password protected. Then once you are in the app you can have however many albums you want. But anyone using your phone, even if you have a password protect on your iphone, would have to know another password to get into the photo/album app where you keep the good stuff

It is for a mac computer not an iphone

I could have encrypted my whole library but I just wanted to protect certain pictures, so I created a second library for private pictures, it is encrypted

        Here is how:

        1. open disk utility

        2. select "new image," make sure you select encryption and make sure it is a sparse disk image

        3. once it is created open iPhoto, when you click on the iPhoto icon hold down option (alt), you will be presented with a menu, choose "create new"

4.Choose the newly created encrypted sparse disk as the new iPhoto library location

        5. Import photos into your new library via iPhoto

        6. Close iPhoto and eject the disk image that is on your desktop, the photos are now safe, encrypted and no longer accessible

To access your "private photos" you need to open disk utility, mount the disk image, and then hold down option (alt) when opening iPhoto, from the subsequent menu choose your encrypted disk as the library
