  • how to "clean" your computer

    Hi guys

Does any of you know a good way to delete everything on your pc so nobody gets to find out I visit this site for example or that I watched porn etc.
For example when I type in my web browser: www.y .. suddenly www.youporn. com appears in my options. I hate this.

Another example: when I want to type a mail with my Gmail account of school, when I click to write a subject, suddenly a menu appears with "best lubrication for jelqing" etc (in other words, threads I once created). I almost got caught recently.

    Thanks for the help!

Do private browsing on Mac Safari or in private browsing on Windows explorer
Also for extra safety empty the cache, remove history, remove autofill form text (MAC). widoze should have a similar uto text thing.

I use private browsing when I don't want anyone else to see where I've been on the net. Of course, I mainly use my computer anyway. I also have two hard drives (laptop) and occasionally wipe one and switch to the other. It only takes about an hour and I'm back and ready to rock.

Clear cache, cookies, and browser history. Really simple and easy to figure out. If that doesn't work, invest in a nice hammer.

Of course if the man is knockin' at your door, nothing works better than poppin' the hard drive in the microwave.

            This

Use private browsing, but I realise that that can become tedious, I personally use chrome for anything suspect, and firefox for normal browsing and work

Might consider using CCleaner to clean up temp files as well

I'm glad you asked this, Brainsick. The same thing happens on my PC, using Firefox, no matter how many times I clear the cache, cookies and browser history. And, I use CCleaner several times a day. As soon as I type www. in my URL window, my recently bookmarked sites appear as a drop-down menu to select from! Same thing happens with typing a subject line... I get a list of recent subjects... I'm paranoid that a visitor will ask to check their email or google something, so I disable it when I have guests.

I don't even know how to get to Private Browsing, and even if I did wouldn't the same thing happen with my bookmarks showing up for all to see? How can I erase that history without erasing my treasured bookmarks?

create a second user account for friends. When friends are around, use your new user account, which contains no private info whatsoever. When alone, use your usual user account.

I've just checked and you can stop firefox from storing history by (1) clicking the orange firefox sign in the top left hand corner (2) then click on options (3) you should now be on privacy, if not then click on privacy (4) next to history it says firefox will and then you will have three options to choose from and you would pick never remember history then it will give you the option to clear current history and once you've cleared the current history press OK and then it should no longer store history.

OK, thanks.... Now back to the issue... Being in Private mode does not cure the pre-existing problem...

I don't think XP provides for any private browsing on Explorer. Chome is also quite easy, but Google is collecting your search history at the same time unless you stop it.

You can delete the data that they store
