I find it rather interesting that MOST men would rather not embarass themselves for fear of looking less than masculine and would rather NOT dance with the woman but rather sit there, drink and just observe. Must be why dance floors are ALL women and very few men..............I don't get it. I go out there and I don't give a DAMN what anyone thinks of my moves, lack thereof or whatever. I'm there to have fun and dance with a hot woman........case closed.

Well, not everyone likes to dance. I "can", but I don't like to. For me, it's not about "caring" about what others think of me. I just don't enjoy dancing, so I usually do not do it. I'd rather do other things with hot womenOriginally posted by MrBigDick View PostI find it rather interesting that MOST men would rather not embarass themselves for fear of looking less than masculine and would rather NOT dance with the woman but rather sit there, drink and just observe. I appreciate everyone's diverse input.
I'm stuck at this venue for at least one night, and plan on making the best of it.
malehanger, you're right. Honesty is my strong suit, and I have every intention of communicating directly. At the same time, it is a dance joint, and if I meet a girl I like I'll be happy to get closer to her and try to dance a little. It might even be fun. But if she thinks I'm the guy who will accompany her to every night club, I will clear up that miscommunication immediately.I am no longer an active member on the PEGym.

MBD, you're right. You don't need to be a superstar. You just need to be able to have fun.
That being said, going into any situation clueless as to how to act can cause a loss of confidence. That's why you should look up some quick ways to move on the dance floor. There are some really good, non sleazy moves you can practice. Dancing is a lot of fun."Know the rules well, so that you may properly break them" - The Dalai Lama

If you want to get good quick learning popping. Hold out your arm and tense it quickly then release, Your arm should jerk slightly. Then pick out a beat in the music and "pop" when you hear it. You can do whatever you want with it really. Youtube it for some ideas. But once you have the basic principles you can do with it what you want.
Even if you just side step to the beat of the music you are going to look better than someone dancing off beat with ridiculous moves.

I've had to fake my way out of NUMEROUS situations with women. I finally got to a point where at 41 years old, I was out to have some fun and I just didn't give a shit who thought what of what I was doing. I realize not every guy is where I am at. I do find dancing alot of fun and when I used to go out with my then gf, it ALWAYS..........and I do mean ALWAYS, got me laid.........:-)It's a tough job being good looking and hung :-)

I generally avoid dancing because I just feel stupid, unless i'm blind drunkOriginally posted by MrBigDick View PostI find it rather interesting that MOST men would rather not embarass themselves for fear of looking less than masculine and would rather NOT dance with the woman but rather sit there, drink and just observe. EDIT: which unfortunately doesn't happen often because I have to drive most of the time

Solo dancing is very different from partner dancing. Moving by yourself is free and more open to interpretation and expression.
Partner dancing, and taking classes and going to partner dancing venues/events improves your confidence and ability to just walk up to a woman, grab her around the waist, and dance with her instead of giving her a show. It also teaches you how to dance with women without making it all grindy/creepy, and gives you actual dance and movement skill.
If you can dance with a woman, without making it about sex or getting with them, and just for the skill and enjoyment of it, this is what makes you stand out, and the women will be lining up to dance with you.
EDIT: Also, dancer women, I've found, are generally more intelligent, more social, more outgoing, more affectionate, more athletic, have more stamina, more strength, more body control, than any other women you'll meet at a bar or club. Overall, these women are of a higher quality and caliber, and many of them are independent, liberal-minded, open with their affection, more confortable with their bodies, more touch-oriented... damn, I could go on, but why don't you all just start a dance class and see for yourselves?Last edited by Qarzan; 04-26-2012, 04:51 PM.Starting (3/14/2011) = 5" x 4"

I want to, Qarzan. I think it'd be an extremely useful skill, and I'm okay with the fact that I'd be a bit mechanical at first. Maybe one day.I am no longer an active member on the PEGym.

Something one of my friends posted on facebook. Watch it to see what dance means to many, including me. To me, it also means much more than just what they mention in this video.
