Gains vary from person to person. For me girth is much easier to gain than length.

I'm finding that's true for me, too.

From my observations over the past few years, I would say girth is easier to gain than length. I was lucky in that I gained both equally. It makes for great symmetry.

Length is easier right at the beginning. Girth I had to work specifically for, but now length isn't going anywhere.
            Started October 2008: 5.50 NBPEL x 4.25 MSEG

            July 2009: 6.00 NBPEL x 4.75 MSEG

            Final Goal: 7 NBPEL x 5.5 MSEG

ive found length initially but im hoping to do it in stages - add a bit of length, cement it whilst working on girth and vice versa

Seems like I gained about twice as much length as I did girth over my first year but as I am becoming even more conditioned it seems that girth is slowly catching up.

I would think newbies will see length gains first.

No, while it may be true that a newbie would find length gains easier to gain, some gain girth easier than length. It varies from person to person, but I can safely say that some find either one easier to gain over time, or both, even. I've let go of the length work for a while because I'm almost at 7.5 inches and I'm doing bundled stretches for my girth work, and I have to say, it does wonders, flaccid and erect.
