hey guys.
So me and my girls 1 year anniversary is coming up. As a reference we are both about 26 years of age. Now at the moment I'm not in the most financially secure position as I have a low paying job and burdened with student loans. I suggested that we take a romantic beach trip for our anniversary to North carolina. I have already booked a hotel for two nights and everything. I was hoping the trip could serve as my gift to her for our anniversary considering I will be paying for everything. Hotel and transportation and restaurant. It'll come out to about 600 or so.
My question is would that be enough? or would I come off looking insensitive and/or cheap for not getting a seperate gift? Like jewelery or a bag or something like that. It is our first anniversary, so I have this image in my head of her friends asking her what her boyfriend got her and her saying "oh NOTHING". This trip is literally emptying me out so I was wondering what I should do. Any help from you guys is appreciated.

Listen to Tinkerbell on this one. Too many marriages get into the anniversary buying game. Your gift shows how much she means to you: "Look honey, you mean a gold neckless and a moderately expensive dinner to me. Oh look that is nice, my assistant picked it out." Ok, but really. Taking the time to plan and pamper her is much better. Treat her like a goddess and give her your undivided attention on your anniversary if no other time. This says to her, "You are the most important part of my life and I wanted to show you that this weekend." Your wedding anniversary recalls the excitement and joy of HER wedding day (every little girls dream) to YOU (you lucky bastard!), so bring out all those feelings in her again this year, next, and everyone after. This reinforces her choice to marry you and not all the other men she might have picked. And keep it about taking care of her and she will be the one pushing you, or even making you have loving and possibly wild sex! But if all you do is cuddle, that is nice too. Hope you have lots of fun!
