That's interesting, frb. It was around that time, 1974, that I took up swimming again, which I had given up since my college days. I have been lap swimming, 3-5 miles a week, ever since. My goal is to keep at it until I'm at least 100. Ha, ha. That goes for p.e. too.

Kind of like one thing leads to another. With exception of living in DC never had access to a pool for swimming as a form of exercise. Learned to swim in Lake Ontario, talk about your turtling, that water will do it for you. But with the skiing, after the first year realized to continue would have to get back into shape. Started running, seriously lifting weights according to an aerobic program. Went from a 15.5 dress shirt to a 17.5. A back injury forced me to give up running, but I still walk 2-4 miles at a time. While I see people swimming in the Te Ni Se not for me. What they throw away up north floats by in the early afternoon.

Well, I'm 32 years older than your socks. Can I come over and try them on and see if maybe I'll feel 32 again? Hey frb, come join our 40 and older group. I'd love to hear some of your stories.
