DFC's Heartfelt Thought of the...I don't know, this is kind of a one off thing.
"Kevin Berthia is talked out of jumping off the Golden Gate Bridge by police officers. He has since become an advocate for suicide prevention and has started a family. [2005]"
jmp.jpg
Life is miserable sometimes. It's unfair, it's hard, it hurts, it challenges you beyond all you think you're capable of, and at the end of the day you can't even sleep because your mind is racing in anticipation of tomorrow just being worse. But just because you feel like it will never get any better doesn't mean you're right.
The man about to kill himself in that photo is now happily married and has two children. Here's a quote from him, talking about the police officer who is seen talking to him in the photo. "He made me feel like, 'I understand why you are here, but there are alternatives.' That an individual who doesn't even know me could listen to me and hear my story and show me compassion gave me another reason maybe to try again."
If you're in a bad place, there is always hope, and there is always help available, no matter how rotten the whole world seems. And if you're fortunate enough to be in a good place, please be kind and show compassion to others. You may just save someone's life. <3
Edit: I should probably say that this photo and this post came out of some random web browsing that led me to read a bunch of tear jerking stories from the early 21st century. And though I wasn't particularly down or depressed at the time, I ended up feeling so grateful for the things I am fortunate enough to have in my life, that I needed to share this with others. And this seemed like a good place to do so.Last edited by drfrankencock; 12-04-2014, 11:56 PM.The difference between a winner and loser is, I don't date losers.

Oh, So today is Bathtub Party Day! And tonight is Friday Night! I see these two coming together to form something wonderful! You're all invited to the 1st Annual TPW Thread Bathtub Glitter Party. Punch and cookies will be served. I urge you to avoid the "Mistletoe Cookies" if you don't want to get too frisky. The Glitter Ball Pit is being constructed. The strippers are on their way, and music will be provided by both the Music and Christmas Music threads, who have both agreed to join in the fun. I have heard that even The Five Word Game might stop by. Just please don't give her any punch, as she is a crazy, crazy drunk and keeps flashing her boobs at the paparazzi.
Yes Cusp, Cookie, Peter Panties, Bagpipes, Ol' Horny Hat, Thor, Majestic King Of The Realm, there will be a cookie plate set aside just for you. And you know, in Scandinavia's neck of the woods, I believe there is a saying that translates to, "a child with many nicknames is loved". You must be the family favorite around here.
(Yes, I do
, but I went to school for it so it's okay.)

TPW's Passionate Thought of the Day...

Hahaha Frankenberry...I guess I better clear my schedule.
But if we are going to do this then I will need whoever took the punch bowl from the last soiree to please return it.
The bathtub and disco ball are in place but we will need more glitter and snacks. Some extra towels and tub toys would be good too. So to anyone planning to attend, please post what you are intending to bring. Thank you.

...it fit my outfit so well, I couldn't resist.
Sooo, I'll be bringing the punch bowl, a large mat for glitter rolling, and a big bag of chex-mix, cleverly disguised as cat-nip.
Going an inch and 1/2 deeper than before

I'll see if any of my dolphin besties can make it. Just in case, don't come dressed in shark costume.
And I brought us some healthy food. We'll need to eat it before tub-romping can begin.

The mat for glitter rolling is a brilliant idea...less to vacuum later.
