This is just a casual post,,,,,,,I'm wanting to know YOUR views on skyping.

There are times I wish I can just hook into a network of us PE people and get more personal with ya'll (I rarely say ya'll).

I think we can say things faster and get to know each other better with video messaging. I do realize it breaks down certain barriers,,,,,barriers that DO make some of us feel safe. I for one have nothing to hide (not saying that anyone does) and I'm often open to share who I really am with others. Do you think this is a good idea? Do-able? Has anyone thought of this??? Maybe we can have video "TEACHING" sessions......nothing graphic, but like I said, one pic is worth a thousand words. I don't know if video conferencing can be part of the forum,,,,but skyping is easy and I do it often with my Son in NY. In fact before moving to Fl. My gal and I did this most every night. Your thoughts??? (oh and by the way,,,,not just ANYONE would be able to do this,,,,,it might require more info about YOU in general....this weeds out the "less desired")

If I were to skype with someone I wouldn't use a webcam... The idea of skyping in itself could probably be a cool / funny idea

Might as well take advantage of new technology.

Maybe like a Saturday or Sunday afternoon coffee club or somthing like that. Nothing too serious, more like just trying each other out as friends. NO nudity or anything for anyones perverted intentions (if there were any) One time I got a message from someone looking to get to know me better, it was someone of the same sex and that didn't go over well with me. But I just ignored it and hopefully that person got the "idea".

I think mentoring is a good idea.This is done on the forums via PM, but if people want to FB/Skype or even meet i think they would have done that.

The experienced guys tend to be middle aged or older, and a number of people already send them PM's.Add to that this skype business....you see why they would be reluctant.Much of their free time is spent helping people on the forum, and imagine someone walking in on you demonstrating some PE to a young dude on the internet...

As a way to meet and greet, sure why not?

Interesting idea DW. I suppose when your on here long enough, it doesn't seem like that "risky" of an idea.

Just means I'd have to put on a shirt and comb my hair, lol.

We did have one member skyping, it has been awhile, looking for 'customers'. Eventually, she/he/it was banned.
It all started with an invitation to meet in the signature.

Some people are private and would like to meet only.Some would be ok with phone/skype i guess.I think it comes down to trust.

If someone i trusted was having a crisis, i would skype and talk face to face and help him out and encourage him i suppose.

Thing is, most of my friends are secure, happy people.

Well you see,,,,,this is why I'm asking about this. May not be a good idea after all........or it may go over with SOME of us. I would NOT give my skype id to just anyone,,,,,,maybe BigO, camaro, Ncguy etc. (just off the top of my head) but mr "I'm a skeptical 14yo jerk" would not be an option. Like camaro said, maybe for friendship and to shoot the bull for a bit,,,,after all,,,,,,on the same premise of email, it's convenient and done at your leisure and you should not be held to strick requirements from your friends (shouldn't have to feel you HAVE to do something or be pressured)

Yep, most of the older crowd are in contact via phone.Can't see how skype is any different.In fact, guys on different continents can call for free etc.

Just comes down to whether you want that kind of contact.For most people, PM is enough.

Yeh, pretty much. Instead of some random dude taking a photo from a skype call and linking it all over PEGym saying that this guy is newguy2.... Then it randomly get spread to all I know etc. If you use skype with a webcam you're not really anonymous anymore.
