Here are 3 studies, I thought a conparison would be of interest .
| Study | Mean | Standard Deviation | Largest 10% |
| Schneider et al. 2001 | 5.7 inches 14.5cm |
0.79 inches 2.0cm |
> 6.7 inches 17.0cm |
| Ansell 2001 | 5.88 inches 14.9cm |
0.83 inches 2.1cm |
> 6.9 inches 17.6cm |
| Wessells et al. 1996 | 5.07 inches 12.9cm |
1.15 inches 2.9cm |
> 6.5 inches 16.6cm The Wessels study is a little unusual in that it seems to be nbpel. Note the greater varation/standdard deviation which I take it is caused by difficulty geting accuracy with nbpel measures and also the smaller length. The difference is .7in roughly which indicates a typicall fat pad. |
