Why do girls check out my package?

I am 18 and I wear jeans most of the time and in school many times I have caught girls looking downstairs where my package is. Yesterday I had a girl come over to my house and I had tighter pants because I had just arrived from the gym. As we were talking, I got distracted and looked away for a while and when I look back at her she was checking out my package. Sometimes I have a semi hard on but most of the time its flaccid.
