This summer my wife and I went rock hounding out west. Spent several days atop a ridge called Bear Mtn. First day there cut my leg, not badly, but it bled and bled. Soaked my sock and my shoe. Finally got it stopped when my wife took a pair of her panties out of the suitcase and used them for a tourniquet. Felt a little strange checking into the motel, covered in red clay and mud, with a blood soaked pair of women's panties wrapped around my leg. Fortunately there was a Harley convention there so I didn't look out of place.
We left the blood soaked bandages atop the mountain along with my sock. Next morning when we returned to the dig site those items were gone from the trash. The ground in the area was dug up in a manner unlike I have seen in the past. No discernible footprints. After much consideration assume this was the work of razorbacks, no not the football players, feral pigs. Where I have lived we have plenty of black bears, and deer, no razorbacks. Anyone out there have any experience with this animal? My impression is they are aggressive and potentially dangerous.
