Im curious to see how many of you guys in the gym attended college ? Were you a virgin or inexperienced ? Where you socially shy ? Did you talk to girls ? Did college change you as a person ? I want to hear you guys experiences because Im going off to college in a few weeks and hopefully I can change in some ways and get out to talk to girls and meet new people.

College is a great place to meet girls. There are thousands of them there and very few are married.
I had a good amount of experience with girls before going to college, and I was probably a little more comfortable approaching girls than most guys.
I ended up getting together with way fewer girls in college than I expected I would. I think there were two main reasons:
1) I was way too picky, and worried about getting trapped in a relationship.
2) I went to a college that was in a different part of my state, and I felt like I didn't click as well with the majority of the girls there.
Don't be an idiot like I was. Don't be too picky.
If you're uncomfortable approaching girls, college provides a huge pool of girls to practice on. If you're afraid to get rejected by a girl on campus, try going out in a different college town, and practice on those girls.

Virgin.Were you a virgin or inexperienced ?
Yep. Still am.Where you socially shy ?
Nope.Did you talk to girls ?
The only thing that changed was knowing that if you have no skills, talents, or no idea what you want then college is, more or less, a big waste of time.Did college change you as a person ?
As for it changing me as a person, that would be a big NOPE.

I am going to college at the moment (1 year completed) and it is very nice. You make your own class schedule and go to classes at the times you want. Be aware that classes are much harder and expect a lot of homework depending on the classes. Do your best with each class giving your 110% because it will help you get the good grades.
For example, I got an A in my Trig/Pre-Calculus class in high school. I thought that I could get by with the same amount of work. I was dead wrong. I barely passed the class with a C.
As for your questions:
1) I am still a virgin, though I have had a little experience with a long distance boyfriend (single now).
2) I am a bit shy; however, I do enjoy talking with people and I try to make friendships with people whether it was with guys or girls (FYI I'm bisexual).
3) Of course, but to be honest I talk better with guys probably because I am a guy.
4) Right now I do realize that joining clubs can help with dealing with shyness and get to know people that shares an interest that you have. It is really nice.
Get out there and talk with new people. Don't be afraid to say hello to your classmates and get to know them. You can make some awesome friendships and even relationships.
For college I am keeping an open mind for my degree that I am studying for. I have 3 paths that I have interests in.
1) Mechanical and Aerospace engineering because of the job security and money
2) Stem cell regenerative medicine because I find it very interesting (inspired by foreskin regeneration and other advancements in regenerative medicine procedures).
3) Graphic design for my enjoyment and possibly making a career out of it.Last edited by Golf1094; 08-08-2014, 12:14 PM.Aiming for a bigger, healthier willy!

I dated the same chick in college that I ended up marrying. College gives you an education above and beyond the classroom. It makes you a more well rounded individual IMO. I graduated almost 15 years ago and even though I never did anything with my degree, at least I've got it.It's a tough job being good looking and hung :-)

Entered and left college (4 years) a virgin. Spent one night with a girl but never got completely naked.
Started very shy and graduated a bit less shy. Better able to start a conversation with a girl. Fraternity life significantly improved social skills. It was not until I joined a group rental at the shore in my mid 20s that I was able to overcome my shyness.
An economics degree gave me an open door into a successful banking career.Valued Member of 12+ years at the PEGym12/'09 (start) NBP EL - 4.5, EG - 4.4

I went to college.
I wasn't a virgin when I went in.
I was socially shy, yes.
Yes, I still spoke to girls.
I signed up for every party thing I could, went to every team meet of my chosen sport, tried to get out of my comfort bubble. It was an overall positive experience. Milk your time there for everything it has to offer."Know the rules well, so that you may properly break them" - The Dalai Lama

Besides knowing what I would like to actually do? No, not really. I mean sure I would have liked to go to a couple of the clubs there, but didn't have reliable transportation, and that isn't something I could have changed.Originally posted by CanIgrowPlease View PostSo if you could go back and change these things would you ?
