I am a newbie....one month. Is some pain (soreness) normal? I had to stop for a few days for the soreness to go away.

Pain is not normal, likely your gripping to hard take a few more days off.

Thanks. Does it also have to do with how hard my penis is during exercise? (ie if it is too hard, would that cause the soreness)?

you should never feel pain any pain stop right away, in regards to how hard it is you should never stretch with an erection you always want to be fully flacid

No need for hard erections to make progresss. I have made great progress and have never done any p.e. exercise at more than
50 % erect. There should be no pain, period.

I will contest that very light stretches at semi-erect states are good for increasing your BPEL and EQ.

If you want to increase your BPFSL, you gotta do your stretches completely flaccid.
