So I've looked in FAQ and searched the forum, forgive me if this is a stupid question but - I've gotten friend requests occasionally since I've been here and I most of the time accept them but I've been here for a few months now and I still don't understand what the purpose of them is. Is there some kind of special benefit or something?

Nothing that I ever saw. Maybe easier to contact another, or see what they are posting. Could be good for one's ego if you have lots of friends.

I always wondered this too. It doesn't really serve any purpose, except maybe ego boost as Dangled mentioned. It's useful to see what people are up to on other social media platforms,so maybe ease of acceessing what people are up to.

Never been able to figure it out either. At first I added a few people, but then I sort of noticed it didn't seem to do much (if anything) at all. I still accept if people send me one, but I've pretty much stopped sending them out myself.Original/Current Stats:

We have set a certain number of friends,
that when you reach that number,

Does it toast any particular shapes into the toast? Might be more of an incentive...Originally posted by Dangler View PostWe have set a certain number of friends,

It may depend, if it was run over by forklift, or fell off a warehouse shelf. Its all factory reconditioned goodies.

You can "like" a persons' comment at any time during a visit to the forum (I rather enjoy receiving "likes"). It is an acknowledgement of an agreement to a thought or idea. You can give them "reputation" points which is a "like" with a slap on the back that says "you did a nice job". However, a friend request is an acknowledgement that you like the way the person thinks overall, you recognize the worth of their contributions. So it is an appreciation of the person as a whole and that you are of like minds, passions and ideas.

I often think that CUSP should have a special button called "Father Request" so he can adopt some of the youthful PE'ers he spends so much time coaching as his children.
