I'm sorry you had to see the prequels and all of that added CG stuff to the original three.

I agree. Although I "accept" them because they're were done and they're already there as part of Star Wars, but the last trilogy was a disaster. A ridiculous for-profit only trilogy. All those computer generated graphics, all those stupid emotional androids, the horrible actors, etc... completely away from the mystic of the original trilogy. JJ Abrams is supposed/wanted to bring all that back.

            He should re-do episodes 1, 2, and 3 lol.

This was me for Star Wars last night. I'm the big tall guy in the black armor and helmet in the back. You may recognize me from the original trilogy. ;-)

The movie was amazing btw! I laughed, I cried, I cheered, I had goose bumps, a slight flutter in my stomach..and that was before the movie began! Saw it in 3D and 2D last night in an XTreme Atmos theater. If you have the opportunity to watch it in this type of theater I highly recommend it.

The premiere began at 7pm yesterday, in the United States. I am in the suburbs of Chicago.

Going again to troop as Vader tonight, tomorrow, going to see it in IMAX on Sunday. Another troop and watch on Tuesday. So I will have seen it 6 times in as many days. Luckily it's really, really good because I was committed to all of those before seeing it once.

I still don't understand though why it wasn't made in 3D for the 70mm film on IMAX screen That would have been orgasmic.

As we have learned George Lucas should stay as far away from Star Wars as possible, he is the reason we have out of place CG monstrosities in the background of the original trilogy, and some abominations of computer generated overlords that even take up the whole screen. Not to mention replacing whole scenes of good practical effects replaced by obvious CG shit.

George Lucas is a pig. My company had a license to manufacture and sell Star Wars watches for the first Trilogy. Everyone else wanted a 12% royalty but Lucas wanted 14%. When sales slowed and we wanted to close out the watches at $4 wholesale his audit team insisted we pay our royalty on the original wholesale sales price of $8
