With the US economy now the third largest behind the Eurozone and China how do you think the US will adapt to it's changing Economic role and position?

How so? I don't follow. How would they willingly change their role?

When we have a decent president that position may change.

Actually given Chinese rate of growth regardless of who is president the gap will widen.

For instance the greenback has been hard currency of convenience ,do you see that changing in time to the euro or yuan?

The Euro is set for a massive decline I reckon. It looks like there is going to be another 2008 style crash this year. The signs are there. Who knows what shape any economies will be in then.

US dollar is a reserve currency, proper term. Reserve currencies come and go over time and it's never good for the country who ends up going from reserve currency to not reserve currency. British were the last to feel that.

You can't trust any government reported numbers or anything that comes out of China. The chances of the Yuan becoming much of anything aren't good at all. I know a fund manager whose whole business is based in Hong Kong where he can travel China to physically check on businesses. Basic stuff like, does this business actually have a factory? Do workers actually show up to the factory? Do the amount of goods going into the factroy and going out justify what the company says about production? He does well with his fund. Short answer is don't trust the Chinese to report anything factual.

The EU is not that strong and not that unified, some Euro's are kept by other countries but the Euro has more unknowns going on then the US dollar.

The US does have a problem with an aging population along with a huge amount debt. Given 20 years those two factors very well may be a big problem.

Short answer is the US dollar as a reserve currency isn't changing any time soon.

I'm predicting about 15-20% off the US stock market this year so the Euro may not end up that weak. Gold and silver are in an upswing for sure right now and I expect that to continue. Other commodities like copper, steel all that are in a bear market not coming out of it for a while to come.

Just my predictions. I'm making a killing so far this year short especially in the green companies.

Yes I am thinking it's not going to be short term but given how rapidly things can change perhaps medium term .

A crash in the US could accelerate it's decline as a world economic power.

With .71 cents of every US tax dollar being used to service the interest on the debt and all the entitlement programs, it's just a matter of time before the USA starts to default on all the debt payments and the bottom falls out. Many top economist say once we get up to about 25 TRILLION in hole, that the dominos will fall fast. Add to that all the unfunded liabilities and we are on the fast track to implosion economically.

Im not sure 71% of all tax dollars is used to pay interest on the debt. Sounds a little high. But I can't control government, only my own life. Thats why I became a computer engineer to have job security. In 2008, I was a Union carpenter and just about everyone was laid off. So I made a career change and tripled my salary in 4 years. Regardless of the government or who the President is, I will still be successful.

I said interest on debt AND entitlement programs (ObamaCare, Medicare,Medicaid, Social Security, Social Security Disability, unemployment and welfare programs.)
Unless you have several million in liquid assets, when the bottom falls out EVERYONE will suffer, nobody that works for a living will be unaffected.

Are you a retail trader or do you trade professionally? I've been reading and trying my hand at position/swing trading for a few months now, it's very interesting but I realised that my knowledge is next to nothing and finding good sources of condensed information is proving to be quite difficult. Any tips would be more than welcome.
