I believe all things are created with inate dignity .
Humans can increase their dignity ,not by money or status, but by the dignity they treat the world and people around them with.

I don't believe dignity is inate. Rather it is learned with social interaction. Once learned, it mostly rises to the top of human behavior.

This is an important point you believe dignity is given by others ,I believe their is an intrinsic dignity.

There was a kid who would not fit in and would not do what he was told, a difficult teen. He was regarded with contempt and sent to an institution . There he continued to break the rules and in fact stole . The institution was run by doctors who were highly respected they gave him a lethal injection . The kid was reviled as a social miscreant .


This happened prior to ww2, the kid would not join Hitler youth and was friendly to jews (though he wasn't one ) and in general acted in a way a good young Aryan shouldn't . At this point he didn't steal or do anything we would regard as criminal but it was enough to get him disrespected by the society he lived in . He got no external dignity .
Now he was sent to an institution where the Nazi following their eugenic program were putting the infirm disabled etc that didn't fit their Aryan worldview . Now these respected doctors that got respect and dignity from the society they lived in, decided to cease feeding some of the infirm ,disabled etc that were in their charge . Now rather than see them starve to death the boy stole food for them and in general help them . This is when the docs gave him a lethal injection.

Now I would argue this kid, who got no dignity from the society around him and certainly did not learn the lessons ,social interaction in that society were meant to teach him, had intrinsic dignity and developed more by his actions.
Conversely, I would argue that the docs might have been given social dignity by the society they lived in, but lost the intrinsic dignity they were born with by their actions.
