Hi,
This site was recommended by a member of another men's health forum where I had posted asking for advice.
I live in the UK, 55 years, generally in good health and happily married for 33 years.
Last September I noticed that the glans of my penis was bent noticeably to the left and I could feel a small hard lump under the skin. I visited my GP (local community doctor) who told me it was Peyronies, pretty common with men my age and nothing that could be done. I did my own research and saw lots of disturbing images, being thankful mine was minor by comparison.
However, over the months, it got worse, the bend much more severe and upwards rather than to the left. So I persevered with my GP and got an appointment to see a urologist. He gave me much more information, saying that the usual pattern is that the plaque develops over a period of about 18 months after which it stabilises. He said there is a small chance that it recover by itself but other than that the only possible treatments are injections into the plaque (expensive and not reliable) or surgery which is quite severe. He has referred me to an andrologist but this is unlikely to be any time soon as they prefer to let the 18 months pass to see how it develops.
I’ve read of tablets containing enzymes, the companies that supply them claim miracle results but I’m not convinced because the medical profession says that there is no evidence.
Wondering whether anyone here has any success stories or advice that they would care to share.
Many thanks,
Nigel
