Old Man ED Problems.

Hello all. Newbie here. I’m 71 years old. About 8 years ago I had a nerve sparing prostatectomy. The procedure was great because my doc saved my life. Gleason score of 9.5 and cancer was at the margins ready to go elsewhere. However, the nerve sparing...not so great. I first depended on trimix which was fairly successful, however my wife soon became disinterested in sex, so I became celibate. This lasted several years until I noted my penis was getting smaller. I asked my doc for a new prescription of trimix. I went through my records and my last prescription was
ALP 10 micrograms, PAP 15 mg & PHENT 0.5 mg per ml. I’ve read that’s a high dose, so I began cautiously. Nothing. I worked up to 1ml. And still got nothing. I tried unilateral injection as well as 500 microliters in each corpus cavernosum with no results.
I purchased my latest doses at a different compounding pharmacy because it is much closer. I’ve heard that different pharmacies make different doses. But that 1cc being injected, I’d see some results. No such luck.
if I’m so resistant to erections, I have doubts as to whether a pump would work.
Anybody out there with similar problems or suggestions.
I would certainly appreciate help.

My ED issue is primarily Diabetes (26 years.) after three years of successful use of Trimix, I had to slowly increase the dose and strength of the mix until 75 ml had little effect. At this point I switched to a medical type Vacuume erection device (VED) - a specially designed penis pump that lets load a tight tension band onto the cylinder, pump up an erection inside the cylinder and then slide the band off the base of the cylinder onto the base of the erection generated inside The cylinder.

For me, the VED maintains a hard erection; however, my dick starts to loose sensitivity after ten minutes due to blocked blood flow and the band needs to be removed after 30 minutes To avoid injury. Check out ErecAid on the Internet to view VEDs and FrankTalk DOT org, a help forum foR guys with ED. You will also find on the latter, lots of information on VEDS as well as guys Who opted for penile implants.

Actually, 71 is not too old for an implant (several guys on franktalk had implants in their 70s), assuming your wife is up to having more sex. I am 78 and am still considering it.

You are 71, congrats. But at that age it's possible physical shape goes down rapidly(if not worked against). This will also have an effect on your muscles including the pelvic floor muscles and muscles innervating into the penis.

The chemicals facilitating an erection still need a functioning pelvic floor.
If you search for pelvic floor training and balance, you will find a lot. With a smart training regime you maybe can retain shape and strength while using a sensible amount of chemicals for erections.

Also testosteron is an issue when being older and there are sensible Test therapies to replace the hormone missing.

Pumps to attain an erection can work, but usually the way to keep it if function is impaired, is to pump up and then place an erection band that clamps of the erection attained by the pump. Then you remove the pump. It's kind of dangerous if you consider you had a nerve problem.
Also you might try to create an environment where nerves grow, cause they do, very slowly. But I don't know a lot about it.
