  • Beginner Questions- Please Read

After lurking on these forums for about a month and very recently turning 17 (legally an adult where I live), I have decided to register an account for the purpose of asking a few important questions. Having read many of the popular articles, I know what most of the abbreviations mean and am familiar with many beginner exercises.

Recently I thought I would try to follow a regimented, scheduled PE routine. My only concern is the fact that I'm significantly younger than most people on this board, and I probably haven't finished growing yet. (I can't even grow a moustache yet)

Is PE something like playing piano, where starting young is a benefit? Or would I possibly be doing harm to myself or my weiner by starting before I'm completely done growing? This is my main question. I need to know whether PE at my age is a good idea or not. If it turns out its a good idea and not unhealthy, I will have more followup questions concerning training. For the record, I am currently average-above average, healthy and physically fit. The only concern here is age and physical maturity.

I believe you need to be 18 before you can participate here .
That said , in my opinion , do as you were guided .
Just move forward slowly , so as to not injure yourself .
Come back when you get of age .
Always ready to help out .

    I don't think I'm out of line here .
If so , slap me !!

Sorry but you need to be 18 here regardless of where you live. Sorry but I have to give you a ban for a year.

I read the rules, and they stated I either had to be 18 or a legal adult where I live (which I am, at 17).

Regardless of that, wouldn't you rather me be underage and have my question answered than injure myself as a result of not getting the information I needed?

Unfortunately, that's not the case. There are members here where 17 is below the legal age of consent or being an adult, and can leave the website open to liabilities of underage users being able to post and view content. When you're 18, you're welcome to return. Until then, we advise that you don't do PE. You're still naturally growing.
