Since quite some time, I've been thinking about the debated relationship between ejaculation and gains. We all know the results of the penis enlargement survey saying that the men who did masturbate and ejaculate one hour after their workout gained significantly less than the men who did not ejaculated. However, many veterans here believe that ejaculating has no influence on gains, no matter when it happens.
I looked at the physiology of the ejaculation, trying to understand what could happen. It is responsible for the release of several hormones amongst which:
_ ocytocin called the pleasure hormon, responsible for the sensation of sexual satiety
_ prolactin, the hormon of lactation in women, in a smaller way, responsible for satiety too,
_ several neurohormons like adrenalin and noradrenalin.
How could this mess up with a PE session? The only explanation that comes to my mind could be the vasoconstrictor effect from adrenalin and noradrenalin but these hormons have a very short half-life and their secretion is only upregulated for a short time.
From my own experience, after ejaculation, my penis doesn't shrink or turtle at all but stay pumped for some time so I don't see any "negative" effect from it, especially as I believe in the plump theory.
Now let's think about the penis enlargement survey. It's the only survey that we have on the subject but there's still room for biases and errors. What if the results concerning ejaculation were only related to a confounding factor? One explanation that I could see would be that the men who ejaculated just after a workout could be younger than the average population of the survey, with a higher libido responsible of excess of masturbation (not only after the workout) and that this could result in a state of overtraining. And so the overtraining could answer for the reduced gains... This is just a thought but I wanted to share it with you.
The problem is that we'll keep on having this debate about ejaculation again and again and will never have any correct answer if we don't try to assess it by ourselves. So I'd like to propose you a little experiment and would ask for volunteers ready to enter a short 2 months study. I have no idea of how much men we would need for this story, maybe the more the better. What I'd propose you (and I'll be part of it) is to systematically edge after your PE workout:
_ during the first month, you should systematically ejaculate at the end of your edging session,
_ during the second month, you keep on edging but don't ejaculate (at least during the 2 hours following your PE session). This way, each participant would be its own control, but to avoid another bias, some of you should start the first month without ejaculation and then ejaculate during the second month.
During those 2 months, you should keep the exact same workout and try to keep your consistency. You should then measure after each month and see if there's a difference in terms of gains. I know that 1 month for each condition is a short time if we expect to see a difference but I doubt that any of you would like to be "enrolled" for a longer time...
I think that this is an important question that needs to be answered and I need your help to do it...
If any of you can think of any improvement for this "study", please post it here.
If you want to be part of it, post here and say in which group you'll be (ejaculation during the first or second month). Post here your results too.
For my part, I'll start with a month without ejaculation 2 hours after my workout.
Remember that ejaculation is important for prostate health so you should ejaculate at least three or four times a week, no matter what. We're just questioning the timing of ejaculation regarding to PE!
