I was just masturbating this other night in bed while lying on my back. It's not my preferred position but I never realized why. It's because even though I get a rock-hard erection, it's not as girthy as when I'm upright (standing, sitting, kneeling, whatever). Can't really tell about length but definitely lacking in girth. So, I started to make observations while holding my penis; Tunica feels extremely tight to the touch, but at the same time it feels smaller, I can touch my index finger to my thumb with ease. Now when I'm sitting on the edge of the bed, with a 8.5-9.5 EQ erection, I can just reach 5.6" MEG with what I consider my finest erection, and there's a small gap between my index finger and my thumb. Yet, tunica feels more pliable, if I press lightly with my fingertips, it's much easier to squeeze.
I know veins etc. make a difference as for your position. I'm not talking about that, I measure by gripping the structures underneath, the cavernosa etc. Not squeezing hard but definitely not resting on top of the veins.
If the tunica is the limiting factor especially for girth, this makes no sense. Sure, the tunica should feel tightest with the hardest erection, but then common sense would dictate this is when it should also measure largest all around!
Actually when I started to think about it, several discussions and articles especially related to Uli and squeezes have raised the issue before. Namely that you might actually get best expansion at less than 100% erection level. In other words, a 100% erection prevents the slight overexpansion we seek for to achieve gains.
How? Could it be that the bulbocavernosus (bulbospongiosus) is somehow to blame, or the involuntary smooth muscle within the corpus cavernosa doesn't relax completely for some reason? What phenomenon could make a penis harder before you reach the maximum expansion of your tunica?
