  • Stages of Penis Growth

Since both the penis and the stomach are partially comprised of smooth muscle, and the latter has a widely-accepted, medically-known potential to stretch and grow when fed and overfed, I think we may want to look at our internal (and particularly digestive) organs for a more precise method of making gains. I think this may also help to explain why many on this site have reported a greater ease in making length gains than girth gains. For the sake of simplicity, I'll continue using the analogy to the stomach in this post.

Like the smooth muscle contained within the penis, the stomach is incapable of growing through voluntary contractions. However, when an unprecedented amount of food is forced through it, it will expand around the food to accommodate. This can be painful when you stuff yourself too much, but if this process is repeated consistently, then the stomach's size and elasticity will be semi-permanently increased. However, if not maintained to some degree, this capacity will eventually disappear again.

Likewise with PE, by manually and/or mechanically stretching and jelqing the penis, we're essentially "feeding" it, placing external pressure on the smooth muscle and causing it to stretch. As with the stomach, we can expect it to become longer and more elastic as a result. This must be maintained to some degree through cementing, but again after continual pressure these gains will be semi-permanent.

I think the growth of smooth muscle becomes a more significant factor later on in one's PE career, and newbie gains can be explained by a number of factors, in a series of stages:

Stage 1, EQ improvement (where I'm at): Hardness of erections is improved, and consequently EL and EG are slightly increased.
Stage 2, tunica stretching: The outermost internal structure of the penis stretches out, allowing for greater flaccid hang, and potentially some erect gains.
Stage 3, smooth muscle stretching: The smooth muscle within the tunica begins to grow by means of flexibility rather than actual cellular growth/multiplication.
Stage 4, smooth muscle growth: Smooth muscle hypertrophy and/or hyperplasia occurs due to forced blood flow into erectile tissue.

Stage 1 is just like skeletal muscle training, working the PC muscles with progressive intensity and building up strength to sustain better erections. In addition to kegel exercises, other PE techniques will help improve blood flow and thereby EQ.

Stage 2 is analogous to flexibility training of the body's tendons, as both tendons and the tunica are mostly comprised of collagen, and increased in length/elasticity can be induced by routine stretching.

Stage 3 is where the stomach analogy comes into play. The standard prescription for PE is high volume, high repetition, moderate but consistent frequency, and low but slowly progressive intensity. This pretty much follows along with how stomach expansion works, so that makes sense to me.

Stage 4 is equivalent to a lesser form of a priapism-induced case of megalophallus, by drawing and trapping blood into the penis for extended periods of time (through squeezing, clamping, edging, etc) and thereby forcing the erectile tissue to grow. With a severe case of megalophallus, impotence can result, which is why it's especially wise not to over-train this stage or rush into it too fast.

Of course, multiple stages of growth could and should be occurring simultaneously when you begin practicing PE, but this is the order the gains usually seem to come in. Also, I think it's especially vital to maintain a good EQ routine throughout your progress, since this is (let's face it) the singular most important aspect of PE, and we wouldn't want our EQ to lag behind our size gains. A monster cock is hardly impressive if it's impotent.

I know I'm a newbie, and I know I'm hypothesizing here, but I'm just trying to throw some ideas out. What do you guys think? Am I more or less on the mark with all this?

All of that seems like very reasoned things to say, I don't have the PE experience or the biology knowledge to say its right but it sounds good to me.
    Start(ish) BPEL 6.5 MEG 5.5
    Current BPEL 7 MEG 5.5
Goal progression BPEL 7 DONE :D NBPEL 7 Then see where things go

I'd also like to add that I think that, since frequent and hard erections are vital to growth during puberty, and that the lack thereof is a source of penile decline in old age, this would indicate that improving EQ probably has a minor but positive effect on increasing penis size (even flaccid) by forcing more blood into the erectile tissue, as is done with edging, clamping, and squeezing.

I see a number of people on this site with good size routines, but no apparent interest in kegels at all. Or, they do some kegels but their routine isn't progressive, they just do a few hundred quick kegels, check it off their list, and move on with their routine. Doing five sets of one six-second weighted kegel every other day has massively improved my EQ in less than two weeks. Treat PC muscles like skeletal muscle (because they are) and train them for strength (3-5 sets, 1-5 reps), and you'll get the best results.

Your stomach has the genetic component to expand, not just with food, but over time as use dictates; your dick does not. I am always amazed that we all try to figure out "why" it works when those of us that have done it know that it works. Great theories though.

as long as you ditch your old nonsense you've been spouting about it being analogous with bodybuilding growth then I'm happy lol

I think that understanding how PE works could give us better insight as to how we ought to approach it. We may be able to make the general claim that "it works", but understanding how, why, and when something does and doesn't work can give us a more precise method for effective PE.

PE is still in a sort of beta testing phase, where we're relying on a handful of scholarly articles, but mostly just an ocean's worth of anecdotes from the internet.

Do you really think that a large amount of money will one day be given to do an exhaustive scientific study on how to get your dick to grow bigger? First of all it's not that important. Next with the money that is available maybe they should figure out how to cure cancer or maybe even a cold.

Your analogy for the stomach is useful to counter the stupid argument that has been bandied about on the site about one's bladder. Apparently a urologist, when asked about jelqing, said something about bladders being soft muscle and the dangers about not peeing just to make it bigger; it's a really stupid argument (but I digress).

So, you've found an apt, but partial, analogy between smooth muscle penis gains and size changes of other smooth muscles. However, you are reaching too far to try to make it a direct analogy.

Another factor that most encounter is the tunica, because it is primarily the tissue we seek to deform through exercises. The structural composition of the tissue is important because it enables the use of the organ.
