People smarter than I, please poke holes in this.
I have spent a lot of time thinking about the two competing hypotheses, Length Before Girth (LBG) and Tissue Gains Clues (TGC). I have encountered a stumbling block in my training which I think can add to the discussion.
Background:
That is the history. Today I measured for week 9. Flaccid stretch and girth are unchanged. BPEL was 6.5", a full quarter inch short of my last "official" measurement on week 7. The reason was pretty clear, the best erection I was able to get was about a 7.5/10. This problem has been creeping in over the last couple weeks.
My Thoughts on Why:
Looking at the LBG hypothesis, there is no explanation for this beyond over-training or some lifestyle factor outside of PE (smoking, sleep, drugs, etc.) For this to be the explanation, one would expect that the sudden change in progress would be accompanied by a sudden change in another factor (increase in PE volume, recent lack of sleep, drug use, etc.), which I cannot find. At this time I live a very predictable life, and there really have not been any such changes.
Looking at the TGC hypothesis, it actually predicts this very scenario. I started with equal BPEL and BPFSL, and over the weeks my BPFSL increased more than my BPEL. According to TGC, this means my tunica size increased out of proportion to increases in the smooth muscle, and TGC predicts that the results of this would be stalled gains and loss of erection quality, exactly the symptoms that developed as my BPFSL began to leave my BPEL behind.
My Proposal for a Test:
According to what I have read of TGC, altering my training to include more girth work, perhaps to the point even of 70% girth / 30% length, would be the proper solution to this problem. What I should see from that is increasing EQ AND a return to gains in both length and girth.
I have 4 weeks left in my beginner 90 days. What I will do is the standard JP90, with the jelqs done at 70% erection or above. I will also add in supra-slammers in a rep range of 5 to 15. Also, I will be doing edging a couple times a week, probably in separate sessions. I believe that if TGC has any validity, I should see results from this within that 4 week period, at a minimum a sharp improvement in EQ.

Background:
- Began PE 4-15-13 with BPEL 5.875", BPFSL 5.875", and EG 4.25" (EQ 9/10).
- By week 5 of JP90 I had reached BPEL 6.75", BPFSL 7.0", and EG 4.5" (EQ 9/10).
- Weeks 6, 7, and 8 saw a sudden halt to all gains.
- Week 8 showed decreasing EQ.
- I have been modifying JP90 in various ways, but the simple version is that I have been doing stretch and low-EQ-jelqing a lot more than high-EQ-jelqing.
- Before PE I had never had EQ problems.
