  • Genes, can we change them?

    This might be more hypothetical, but it's just me thinking It's not specifically about a technique or anything, so if an admin sees the need to move this thread, no problem.

    So you guys probable already heard that we can give don't just give half of our DNA to our kids, but sometimes also some threats we have achieved.
    If you want, you van skip these examples.
    First example is physical. The sons of blacksmids are often also muscular, because their das was a big and muscular guy.
    Same with some people in Holland during WWII. Because they were starving, their body started to function more efficiently. They all lived longer and also their children tend to have a better metabolism.
    Last example, the jews during WWII had endured some traumatic stuff, after the war many had PTD, post traumatic disorder. It is proven that even this psychological threat can be passed through.
    The theory is that these threats are coupled on our DNA with certain proteins.

    Now, what I'm trying to say is, if someones gains are cemented, could it be possible that our kids have a penis 1 inch bigger than it normally would've been? Or half an inch for that matter.

    One argument I would have against this theory is that PE has been done for centuries in some cultures, yet these cultures still are not in the highest ranking.

    I don't think PE gains would change the genetic make up of a parent, so PE done by the father would not alter the penis size of the son. In your first example, people who are naturally muscular, I believe that is a genetic trait which can be passed to children. In your second and third example the environmental factors (starvation and PTSD) lead to physiological changes in the mother (more impact) and the father (lesser impact). These changes can impact a child at conception and during the pregnancy. For example: A woman with poor eating habits may gain significant levels of body fat, which leads her to become insulin resistant. Due to her insulin resistance she continuously has too much glycogen in her blood stream most of the time. During her pregnancy her blood, which provides all the nutrients to the child in her womb, carries excessive amounts of glycogen to the baby. In response the baby's body then develops more insulin producing cells in the pancreas. After the child is born, he/she can gain body fat much easier than other children because of the greater potential for insulin production in response to glycogen in the bloodstream, which can lead that child to be obese at a much younger age than the parent.

    Elevated hormone levels of a parent due to stress or other environmental factors can have a similar impact to their children. However, if a mother suffered a broken leg as a child or if she had plastic surgery the child would not be impacted.

        Okay so I took AP biology in high school I can try and explain. Your genes don't change unless there are mutations, so no, you can't change your DNA. But, you can change the way it is patterned I believe.

        A famous experiment was when scientists played a certain sound and then shocked the lab rats with a certain voltage. The rats were not initially startled by the sound but after multiple shocks once they would hear the sound, they would become startled without being shocked. They found that the offspring of these rats also became startled by the noise although they had never been shocked

        So pretty much the genes didn't change, but the stimuli was already pre set in the parental genes to react a certain way which was passed down. It gets fuzzy on whether this is just a mental thing or if it applies to other scenarios but it seems to me the same concept applies to a lot of stuff, like the things you mention.


        If you do PE and are conditioning your penis in the weeks up to the ejaculation where you fertilize the egg MAYBE your child will be pre set to make gains easier if they choose to do PE but they wouldn't be born with a bigger penis or grow up to have one.


        As for the cultures that did PE, I thought Africans were packinnowadays

            If a bodybuilder had children, would the child automatically have huge muscles? See, doesn't make sense. :P

              Absolutely true, but this is more so on the RNA level not so much DNA..however, your liver has a role in how your body responds to such alterations - look into "DNA-methylation" and "DNA DE-METHYLATION"
              Our genetic expression (proteins, neurotransmitter networks and second messenger cycle rate) is HEAVILY influenced by the number of methyl groups we introduce to our body...this includes food, drugs, and even energy drinks.

              Sulfur, nitrates, Copper-status and mineral concentrations, carrier binding proteins, glucocorticoid receptor transregulation..all of this contributes to our 'final state' .. one thing is most of do not get 'rare' metals/minerals in our diet..we need microconcentrations of ORGANIC gold, silver, Indium, Arsenic, molybdenum, chromium and ESPECIALLY Iodine!

              If these metallic ionized currents are disrupted or deficient then our DNA/RNA is more subject to 'missignaling' and thus our brain and body gets confused without enough minerals/metals!

                So a good trace mineral supplement with a certificate of analysis (proving what is in it by lab testing) is a good place to start in terms of supplementation...
