  • Amazing Thailand...Drugstore Find

So I was at the local drugstore/chemist here in a sleepy little town in rural Thailand where I live getting some Ginko, ginseng etc. when I noticed a boxed item with a musclebound dude on it. I checked it out and whoa...it is methyltestosterone! Each tablet contains 10 mg. Needless to say, without using my brain too much, I bought it for a wallet breaking $4. It contains 30 tablets manufactured at a proper drug laboratory here in Thailand (I checked into the manufacturer). Now, in my home country of Australia, there is nooooo waaaaay you can get this stuff without a lot of checking with doctors etc.

"This medication is used in men who do not make enough of a natural substance called testosterone. In males, testosterone is responsible for many normal functions, including growth and development of the genitals (*bazinga*), muscles, and bones. It also helps cause normal sexual development (puberty) in boys. Methyltestosterone is similar to the natural testosterone produced by your body. It belongs to a class of drugs known as androgens. It works by affecting many body systems so that the body can develop and function normally.
Methyltestosterone may also be used in certain adolescent boys to cause puberty in those with delayed puberty. It may also be used to treat certain types of breast cancer in women.

Abnormal drug-seeking behavior is possible with this medication, and it is frequently misused for its muscle-enhancing effects (*cough*). Do not increase your dose, take it more frequently, or take it for a longer time than prescribed. Doing so may increase serious side effects (such as increased risk for heart disease, stroke, liver disease, ruptured tendons/ligaments, improper bone development in adolescents). Properly stop the medication when so directed." (ref WebMD)

So, here is my query for those more educated about such substances. I'm pretty sure that I have normal levels of testosterone but I am approaching 44 years of age...not sure if it could be on the wane. I am, as most know, a very active PE'er and I also workout.

The cruncher: will taking this medication as directed on the package (2 tablets per day = 20 mgs) 'supercharge' my system possibly adding to wang development, help with my physical training and feeling of wellbeing in general or is it bad to pump your levels up a bit beyond normal?

I am obviously not intending to use it for an extended period of time and avoid the problems of being an adolescent and suffering side-effects particular to them. Curious about this and would welcome comment.

Lots of info via search engines, and I found some good, basic info at dranabolics

Cons: Oral, so rough on the liver; increases aggressiveness; not great as an anabolic without some help; gynecomastia is a concern due to conversion to estrogen.

Not sure how much one might expect to gain in terms of muscle-mass or strength in a cycle of just the mtest, but you're lucky to be able to try it!

Thanks so much for the reply. Yes, indeed lots of literature on this substance and rough on the liver; a careful diet, lots of water and the avoidance of certain foods and other potential antagonist drugs could help the process. I am curious; I minored in Addiction Studies at University in 1993-94 and studied pretty much every drug out there. I also experimented with legal and illicit drugs in a genuine pursuit of understanding their effects and efficacy.

I might build up a 1 month supply (currently have recommended dose for 15 days), clear myself of any potential antagonist substances and conduct a trial. I would post a second log (aside from my regular PE one here) on the forums to track sexual drive, EQ and any other fluctuations over the course of one month. This may not be enough time to gain the full effects (either in terms of PE or physical training) but it is certainly more safe than a protracted course of the substance.

EQ is pretty good when I get aroused but I have had sex drive drop off over the last 10 years or so. The potential aggression is a bit of a concern given my extensive background in Police Services, Specialised Security functions and about 20+ years of unarmed combat training....particularly given my current career in education.

Although it is listed as a potential side effect....the last thing my classes need is a teacher going roid rage on them for not doing their homework hehe. Might wait until my end of term holidays to conduct the trial.

I have no problems with aggression other than the normal getting pissed off from time to time. I'm 54 and started taking T around 3 1/2 months ago. Things to consider is that if you take supplements, your normal production will shut down. Don't care in my instance because it was already shut down (thus the reason I am on it). So taking without needing may do some harm. Others who have been on it longer have stated it doesn't help with PE gains, and I have not noticed anything different. Another thing my doctor worried about and asked me to keep an eye on is blood clots - she has me on a daily low dose aspirin to thin the blood as a preventative.

So, while it may be great that you have access to it, I would get your levels checked first in case you end up with negative results instead of positive. If your levels are fine, why bother?

You hit the nail on the head ZZ with the most logical approach. I may get my levels checked on holidays in a month; my town hospital is too small to perform this test apparently so have to drive an hour away. If my levels are normal...no need to mess with it as you said.

I think that there is just a bit of mad scientist in me from time to time. However, on this occasion no experiment is warranted

I would get a full physical and blood work done first. Just as a precaution so you don't end up exasperating a preexisting condition.

Sorry Jackxxx....not familiar with the PCT acronym. Can you explain it?

So if you are going to use anabolic steroids, are you aware that they shut down your natural production of testosterone?

Ah thanks. Yes, I discovered that this is the case through some research. I think that ultimately, this is the biggest red flag for me as I do not know what my current levels are. I will get tested. I think that in terms of physical training, I don't warrant the use of this substance if I am honest with myself. My physical training is comprised of resistance and calisthenic techniques. I do very little lifting and if I do, it is rep intensive over traditional bulk building exercises.

My sex drive has waned a bit but I think that it is normal given my age, work stress, some marital problems etc. However, my EQ is still good and as others have said, the testosterone hasn't given a lot of weight to claims of PE gains.

I will just stick to my current PE and training routines, maintain use of normal vitamins, supplements and correct foods and continue to go for results over time.

I really appreciate the advice and opinions here. As always, a great community of thinkers (and wang pullers!)

I know nothing about steroids or human metabolics but. Because you mentioned Thailand I remember this.

The video i originally watched was a bit longer but Sharkey mentioned Proviron to combat the what I guess is aromatization ? the reason why your body no longer produces testosterone naturally if you take it orally or from injections.

Nothing wrong with using steroids. Just need to know exactly how they work and what you need to do to keep your health and normal hormonal production. In fact, the majority of people in sports, TV, modeling, fitness, bodybuilding, athletics, etc, are on steroids. They just don't say it and deny it but that is the dirty little secret they all have.
