  • Does Vaseline Help Prevent Blisters When Wearing Extenders, Hangers, Etc...?

    Hello.

I saw this comment on some review for the Phallosan:

I mentioned earlier in the review that some guys were complaining that they were getting blisters.

I didn’t experience that at all, and the reason why is because I would almost ALWAYS put on a small dab of vaseline on the head of my penis before putting it on.
This will virtually eliminate any chance of getting blisters.

Do you agree with this? Does Vaseline help prevent blisters when wearing vacuum devices that are extenders, hangers, etc...?

Do you know how blisters form? You get blisters when you apply friction to wet skin. When the skin is wet the blood vessels below the skin constrict making the skin less tight. This along with applied friction shears the top layer of skin away from the body. The area becomes inflamed and the now loose skin fills with lymph fluid, basically water. It's a bit like stretching bubble gum over your to guests before blowing a bubble.

To answer your questions, will Vaseline work? Yes, but to an extend. Vaseline is a lot thicker than sweat or lube, and will help displace some of that friction on the skin, but there is still friction on wet skin. To completely eliminate the risk of blisters you're going to need to dry out the head regularly with cornstarch or baby powder. You might also use a condom overy the head or cut the tip off and use it as a sleeve inside.

Good advice from TGD. Don't overdue the tension so there is no slipping. Much better than vaseline in my opinion.

There is padding which can be added like foam or extra wraps to make the wear easier. With an extender the tension is light and should not produce blisters. Wearing a strap or noose too tight or using the rods as tension instead of the springs can cause unforeseen problems.

Do NOT use vaseline, any petroleum based product or lotion when using the LG Hanger! No lubricant will help eliminate any potential blister. Blisters are always the result of using too much weight you are not conditioned for, or hanging for too long of a time duration you are not conditioned for. Too much vacuum pressure can be a contributor too.
