  • Why Is 10 Hrs. of Hanging Per Week Considered Optimum?

    I know that Bib himself has said he believes 10 hrs. of hanging per week should be considered the minimum that we hang. My question is, how did he come up with this particular number? Everything I've read from Bib suggests that he continuously hung approx. 40 hrs. per week. So, how did he come up with the 10 hr. per week minimum? This number seems a bit arbitrary to me. So, I guess what I'm asking is, how many here have gained w/ less than 10 hrs. of hang time per week? Or, how many did not gain until hanging at least 10 hrs. per week. Unfortunately, many here do not have the time or inclination to hang this much. Thanx!

    I've been vac hanging 8lbs 10-15 hours per week and just measured a 1/8" gain.
    I agree with 10hrs minimum, it keeps everything conditioned.
    I put a hook into a ceiling stud and hang off that with a pully and paracord.
    Easier to get hours in when I can lay in bed watching TV before bed or when I wake up.
    Hope this helps.

      Inferior advice from an inferior device maker / user. I have no qualms about my criticism of clamp / compression style weight hanging devices. I read & hear plenty of complaints from users about pain and injuries sustained from using this device. I had two calls just this week from a couple guys who have injured themselves using the BiB.

        I don't have a law degree, but having two lawyers & a paralegal in the family that all work in personal injury law, I'm very surprised that BIB hasn't been sued by someone. Maybe guys are just too ashamed to come forward with a injury claim because they used a device to try and make their penis larger?

          I hung (12 lbs) three hours a week for three months and gained 1/4 inch.

            IDK, when you start hanging, eyes wide open, you assume the risk.

                      Yep I "come down" on any device that is dangerous! I owe that to all those in pursuit of safe, effective PE. I didn't notice one single reference in my post that named my device, can you show it to me? If you follow anything I say you'll be quick to notice that I endorse manual hand stretching, pumping (I have endorsed the Bathmate) and weight hanging with a vacuum based device. So how's my personal opinion considered "advertising"? I didn't tell you to buy anything....

                        I'm surprised that people still defend those clam hangers. Not only are they more dangerous, only being able to do 20min sets is an awful lot of brain damage.

                        On top of that, people are told to grit their teeth and tough it out. Ride the fatigue.

                        I'm making money when I'm hanging and I genuinely look forward to my hang sessions. I never feel like I have to bear with it. I just do it, then come back and do it again...all with very little thought.

                            It depends largely on what the device maker claimed or warned about when taking your money.

                            The FDA is really falling down on the job. They actively recommend that device makers are careful to make no claims that qualify as "medical" claims so that the whole category can be FDA-ignored. It's a lot cheaper than trying to be FDA-approved.

                            I recommend gentle tension for 10-12 hours per day.

                              So, nobody has went from hanging just a few hrs. a week, then, upon noticing no,or very minimum, gains, started hanging at the 'magical' 10 hrs. per week and started seeing much improved gains? I guess the only real way to tell how many hrs. per week is truely optimal, would be to have several groups of guys, say, 25-50 per group, each group hanging different hrs. per week, and see which group realized the most gains. I know this would probably never happen for various reasons, but it would be pretty cool and revealing!
