Just started using an extender, need some help

Hey guys I have just purchased an extender and just started using it. I just want to check that I am using it correctly. Every time I strap in for a session my penis head will change colour to a blue colour and become cold but not numb. If I try to loosen the strap the head will just slip out. I have foam and gauze which I am using but I still have to tighten it to the point it will eventually become cold and discolour or else it will slip. I just want to know if some discolouration and coldness is normal or if it should not occur at all? and if it does discolour how often should I take it out and massage it/get the blood flow back?
Btw this happens really quick like 10 minutes after, but all sensation is still and it never goes numb just cold.
Also if anyone has any suggestions to help the slipping without tightening the strap too much that would be great.

Yes some discolour is normal. Try to get a slight bit of blood flow from a boner or jelq prior to strapping in. Also, some fabric grip can help (I use it). Numbness and slight discolour is normal providing that you massage it and restore blood flow at least once an hour IMHO.

Trial and error with how tight you strap in, everyone is different. depends on head girth.

Miggles advice is spot on, also I'd add that sometimes too much padding causes you to have to strap in too hard, you have to experiment with it.

What is your strap made of? Using Velcro over the rubber straps supplied with most extenders will also require less tension.

Take it off every hour and work some blood back into it before putting it back on, sooner if you get numbness, later you'll be able to wear it longer at a time.

I meant using Velcro rather than the rubber or silicone straps, not over them, reading my post it seems worded badly.

Try not to use too much tension when you are strapped in. Even a lot of padding will help as long as the penis is not wrapped too tight.

How do you use the toe tubes? Do they stretch enough to put it inside or do you cut strips? I'm interested and think I might get some. I'm having very similar issues especially as I start to up the tension.

Thanks for the replies everyone!, its a rubber strap btw. I how would I go about making/getting a velcro one? I saw an article on the website but it doesn't have any pictures on how to make it.

Basically you take the sticky back and felt parts of Velcro and stick them together, then stick small pieces of the felt Velcro to the extender head to attach it to. When you strap in, the felt side goes against your wrapping, and the sticky back side attaches to the felt strips on the extender head.

I think there's a sticky about the Velcro mod over on Matters of Size forum if my description isn't clear.

Double sided velcro straps are also available that are a lot more convenient, one side has the hooks and the other side has the fuzzy material.
