Well, there are a lot of ppl/sites claiming slightly different foods etc are good/bad.
The gist of it all is if you want to be serious, go no higher then 20g/day of net carbs.
If you want to ease into it, no more then 50g net.
* Net carbs are total carbs minus fiber.
So if your food has 10g of carbs and 5g of fiber, then your net carbs is 5g.
Either can be hard and you'll find if you've a sugar addiction.
Fortunately I've eaten Paleo most of my life w/o even knowing it. So sliding into a ketogenic diet was not hard.
I'd suggest easing into it so that it becomes fun. If you treat it like a drug addiction program, it will be misery.
One thing I started to do is measure my glucose levels throughout the day.
As soon as I awake.
Hour after each meal.
When I go to bed.
This way I find out what foods spike my blood sugar. There are also Keto strips but that's for a later time.
I don't have diabetes but us this kit;
