  • Pumping: safe pressure

After searching this forum and googling and watching YT vids about pumping, i'm bit confused.

Here you say 5 inHg is good pressure and one should not go over it unless you're an experienced pumper. Right?

Well, i saw this vid where guy promotes his company's pump and he said that don't go over 5psi. 5 psi is like 10inHg?? Huh??
I have pump with gauge and it says numbers inHG and CmHg.

5inHG feels pretty mild. 10inHG feels intense but is not painful.

care to enlighten me in this subject? Is my pump gauge accurate?

5 hg, dint do more until you are conditioned.

I made that mistake when new to pumping. You don't feel a giant black and purple blister but you see it. Mine was on the bottom side so I had no idea while I was at 8 hg that I was causing a giant bruise on my dick.

As you condition you will gradually be able to increase pressure.

At 5 hg you can get a hell of a pump if you stay in the cylinder longer.

You will also suffer less edema (lymph fluids drawn up your dong)

Edema gives you that water bllon dick and is also counter productive to gains.
Going an inch and 1/2 deeper than before

I agree with BigO. The rule of thumb for conditioned pumpers to avoid excess edema, you should not exceed 5 hg and 20 minutes. I have been pumping for over 10 years and experience excess edema if I violate the rule. I do occasionally go for 45 minutes at 4 hg, which does generate some slight, temporary edema.

Cool, thank you for giving me your time. So 5psi is way too much. I stay under 5inHG.

What about bathmate? I have that too and it's suction is way more intense vs air pump. Is there some sort of rule how to use it? I started to use it again after a year long break. I do 2x10min sets and i just pump as much as it allows me to pump. Feels great. Dick is super thick after the session. No red spots or edema/donut effect. Only little bruising that goes away quickly. Is it possible to use too much pressure with bathmate? I have understanding that it cannot make pressure so high that it is harmful??

Never used a Bathmate; however, my recommendation for using a pump without a vacuum gauge is to pump up until you feel slight discomfort then back off slightly.
