Looks like it should be fine, I think it will work nicely.Going an inch and 1/2 deeper than before

if you know the inside diameter of the tubes you are going to use, you would want a valved female, and a non valved male.
for example:
Quick Disconnect Hose Barb Fitting Body Valved 3 16 in Tube ID 1 8 in Flow Size Acetal - Valved Hose Barb Bodies from Cole-Parmer
and
Quick Disconnect Hose Barb Insert Straight through 3 16 in Tube ID 1 8 in Flow Size Acetal - Straight through Hose Barb Inserts from Cole-Parmer
these are for tubing with i.d. of 3/16"
if you i.d. is 1/4", these would not seal very good.
note: these are "barbed" fittings. If one of them needs to be a screw/threadedfitting, then you'll need to hunt about.

Thanks guys,
Dangler, I found some 1/4" valved female and nonvalved male adapters on that same site.
Here: http://www.coleparmer.com/Product/Qu...al/EW-06360-65
and here:http://www.coleparmer.com/Product/Qu...al/EW-06360-80
You mentioned that I'll need either barbed or threadfitting fittings, well I read about the pump hose and it mentions "tapered adapters".. then I looked at the picture closely...
These are barbed fittings right? But are the ones next to them the tapered fittings?Last edited by closed149; 04-07-2012, 04:56 PM.

the fittings , female, on my cylinders are 5/16", thats inside diameter of the opening. they are threaded into the top of the cylinder & are "valved".
A 5/16" male, od, would mate, just right.
Now, dont confuse the part size which mates with the tubing. Thats a different measrement.
Look, you may mis order, but how else to ya get handson experience? I got all kinds of odds & ends due to not knowing what to measure here & there, but hey, it is only money ! When success arrives, you'll be all the better.
Now go order some chit & keep your fingers crossed, lol.

The female fitting looked like a standard fitting. Check out McMaster Carr part no 501k71. It fit my ValSeal, BostonPump and LAPump cylinders it fits 1/4 inch tubing. There are ethers for different size tubing. It costs under $2 and shipping is regular USPS, about $0.85.Valued Member of 12+ years at the PEGym12/'09 (start) NBP EL - 4.5, EG - 4.4
