smaller girth with hanging?

a friend told me that when you hang, your penis lenght may increase, but it will go at the cost of girth. Is this true?

It is total BS, you will not lose girth. Many actually experience girth gains, especially at the base so I would not take any more advice from your friend.

Yeah, when you penis expands length wise it will expand thick wise as well.

It may look like it's skinnier because of the stretch, the same goes for using the penis expander (peni master) or other.

It looks like it may get skinner but in the out come it grows both ways.
