  • Review: All 3 Bib hangers (with pics)

There is a lot of questions on the forum about Bib's various hangers. I now own all 3 so I figured it would be a good time to give a comparative review of all 3 hangers for those looking to make an informed decision before purchasing one.

With each hanger purchase, I was surprised that there wasn't much to be found for comparisons and comparison pictures. There is one picture on Bib's site showing a the Bib Hanger and the Bib Starter next to eachother, but that was about it. Hopefully this post will help those wishing to purchase one of these hangers and I would appreciate it if all Bib users would reply to this thread and give a quick rundown of which of the 3 hangers they use, their measurements and how well the hanger works for them. This kind of information is invaluable to anyone looking to purchase any of Bib's hangers.

One last thing. This review is from my own personal point-of-view. This does not mean that if hanger "X" works for me, it will work for everybody. I will detail this later, but each hanger has a very different fit. The 3 versions are not the same hanger scaled to 3 different sizes. The shape of the well, the number and shape of the grips and even the depth of the well varies with each hanger. They all have their pros and cons - which I will try to outline.

    Here are Bib's 3 hangers:

A view of the gripping surface of the three hangers (bottom-to-top Bib Hanger, Bib Hardcore, Bib Starter).

    Notes on each model:

Though erect measurements truly have nothing to do with hanging, they are used to give a general idea of the size ranges the hangers will fit. Please use erect measurements as a very rough ides, as the flaccid penis varies greatly from man to man. My erect measurements at the time of this writing are 7.75"x5.3".

Bib Starter - This was my first hanger. I have had great success with this hanger - having hung up to 27.5 lbs fairly comfortably. This is definitely a hanger for "average Joes". Anywhere from about 4" EG to 5.25" EG should have little problems with this hanger. The well can close very narrow (down to about 0.25") and the well depth is about 1.7". People with a larger girth will have problems with pinching at the top, as the depth is a bit limiting. This is a very capable hanger for hanging some serious weight - the limiting factor for this hanger seems to be girth. I will say that I find it quite comfortable!

Bib Hardcore - This was my second hanger purchase. If you look at the pictures, it has the deepest well of all 3 hangers at 1.9+". In my opinion, this is the hanger for those with a fairly large girth. The deep well does a good job of not pinching the skin at the top when you tighten the hanger. At 5.3" EG, this hanger BARELY fits. If you have a girth my size and below it can still be used, but you're likely going to have to add extra wrapping to gain a little girth.
Looking at the pictures, you should also see that this hanger has a very aggressive surface to give it a good bite. There are people here hanging 30+ lbs. with this hanger. While the bite helps with handling heavy weight, It also makes this the most uncomfortable of the 3 hangers. While its not the view of everyone here, I found it to be magnitudes more uncomfortable than my Bib Starter. I think they named it "Hardcore" for a reason!

Bib Hanger - Also known as the Bib Regular. This was my third hanger purchase. Admittedly I haven't had much time with it (about an hour of actual hanging time so far), but I do have some early impressions.. The first thing that sticks out at you is the sheer size of the hanger. It is an absolute monster! However, if you look at the pictures, its well is the shallowest of all 3 hangers, at about 1.6" (the padding is very very thick, which contributes to this). If you look at the gripping surface, you will see that it provides about twice the surface area of the other hangers.
Here is where things are a bit strange.. For the guys with bigger girth, the Bib Hardcore is still the obvious choice with its deep well. The Bib Hanger fit me BETTER than the Bib Hardcore - due to the well being more shallow. While it doesn't close at narrow as the other two hangers, the shallow well still puts it well into the range of the advertised 5" EG and up category - though I would think those over 5.5" of girth might have a problem with pinching at the top due to the shallow well of this hanger.
The hardest thing for me with this hanger was wrapping. Wrapping a 3" long bundle can be challenging to say the least! I think Bib's estimate of 6" length minimum is a bit of an understatement. At 7.75", I had a difficult time achieving a nice wrapped bundle to attach to. If you figure 1" for the glans, 3 " for the hanger, that only leaves 2" between the back side of the hanger and your pubic bone, and that's if you're rocking a 6" flaccid! This hanger is great for those with longer lengths for sure - the extra surface area really spreads the load out and makes it indescribably comfortable. However, as stated it is difficult to wrap such a long bundle to clamp on to. Additionally, I found this to be the worse hanger when it comes to pinching at the top. It can be avoided by opening the bottom gap a little, but then the EG requirements also increase.

In all, I think the pictures above speak more about these 3 hangers than I could describe. The fit for each one was extremely different for me - The Bib Starter I use a bottom gap of 5 threads, the Bib Hardcore I use a bottom gap of 0 threads (yes, no threads at all), and the Bib Hanger I have to open to 7 threads at the bottom to avoid pinching at the top. The Bib Hanger is by far the most comfortable for me, but its weight is also limited for me since I can't tighten it down as much as I need to. The hardcore really grips the internals, but for me is very uncomfortable (likely because my girth isn't enough to fully fill the well). At this time, I'll probably continue to use my Bib Starter the most, as it fits my girth the best and provides a good comfortable hang even at heavy weights. My best advice for someone looking to purchase a Bib is to find someone with similar measurements to their own and see how the various hangers worked for them.(if you're under 5" EG I won't go with anything other than the Bib Starter though). These are all quality hangers capable of hanging a large amount of weight comfortable if you get the size that's best for you. Also keep in mind that small adjustments to the bottom gap have a large impact on the comfort of the hangers, so don't be afraid to experiment a little!

I always wished there was something like this around when I was looking at purchasing a bib hanger. After reading around (mostly posts by stillwantmore) I decided on the hardcore. My EG is about 4.75", but I have always used wrapping with any of my hangers, so it was just normal to use it with the hardcore, and hence I didn't notice that my girth wasn't big enough for it. My bottom screws are about 5 threads out, but I might try it on 0 and see how I go. At the moment I can wear it easily for 15min sets without discomfort (besides fatigue) and some times I actually forget that it's there.

Once you have the wrapping down it can get extremely easy to use and can get more comfortable as well, but I suppose as you go up in weight you will have to adjust for it.

But that's enough from me Great guide, this is definitely going to be useful to those thinking of purchasing a bib. They really are great devices!

Thanks! I've been stingy when it comes to buying PE devices (been manual forever), but I plan on buying a pump and a hanger sometime soon just for fun and this review helped.

Outstanding thread Donjelqer, great pics. This is by far the best thread I have seen on showing the differences between the hangers. In my opinion the big original is too big for most. I would like to have one but I am waiting untill I am at least 8 inches.
Truly awsome job on this thread-Repped

Here is an Update on the Bib Hanger (Bib Original)

Initially the shallow well made it pinch a lot on top. The padding is so thick, however, that its easy to use a razor blade and trim the padding back on top and bottom by at least 1/4" - essentially adding more depth to the well. Here is a picture of my BibHanger modified as above. As you can see, the well is much deeper now and it is a much better fit. I still recommend a that anyone that purchase this hanger have some serious length though, BigO's goal of hitting 8" length first is probably on-the-money.

I have starter and HC and god damn I wish that there was would have been more people telling what I'm telling you. Just don't buy any clamp hanger. They are all very uncomfortable, impractical and dangerous pieces of shit. There is fundamental problems how these devices put strain to your penis.
