  • Traveling with your PE Gear

I have read several threads about traveling and PE that expressed fears about traveling with your PE gear.

I have traveled many times with my PE gear, passed through airport screening, customs, etc. and have never had a problem. So, I thought I would share some things that I do to ensure I can travel and PE without onerous problems.

    Should you PE while Traveling
If you are vacationing and your PE will take time away from your family, no; just have fun with your family.

If you are on a business trip and will be spending time alone in a hotel, sure. Bring your gear and get some good PE time in while you’re a geobachelor.

    Traveling with Your Gear
Airport screeners are looking for items or devices that will bring down the plane; guns, bombs, compressed gasses, etc. They don’t care about your PE gear. The thing most likely to arouse their interest is if you are traveling with the brass pump; looks similar to a gun and is made of metal. I have the plastic one and none of my bags have been opened and checked (they leave a notice in your bag when they do).

Customs inspectors are usually concerned with transporting live plants, food, or money. Your gear falls into none of those things so there is nothing to declare.

Regardless, I usually mix my stuff around and place the expensive stuff in my carry on (my home made LG) and the inexpensive stuff in my checked bag (heating pad, pump, cylinder, hanging pulley, carabiners).

    Jelqing while Traveling
Traveling with jelqing lube can be problematic if they are in your carry-on bag because of the 3oz limitation on liquids and the requirement for them to be in a see through container. If you have made a lube that is solid at room temperature, however, there is no problem.

    Pumping while Traveling
There is not much difference in pumping while traveling. So not much to worry about here. I like to spread my gear throughout the suitcase. Partly because I don’t want the image to raise questions, but mostly because I don’t want my stuff banging together. I also like to stuff my cylinder with something (mostly to utilize every cubic inch inside my suit case.

    Hanging Weights while Traveling
Bring only your gear, not your weights.

The cheapest (and therefore most reasonable) weight for hanging is water. It is plentiful and you only have to find a container. The good news is that gallon jugs of water cost somewhere between $0.90 and $1.50 each. If, however, you are big on milk or soda, then you have a ready-made container once you consume its contents. The good part is you can feel completely guilt free when you abandon this gear as you check out of your hotel.

The biggest problem you run into with this method is one of precision. Do you know precisely how much water you've added or subtracted? I'm not sure it really matters if you are within 3-5 ounces. Whereas one fluid ounce of water actually weights 1.047 dry ounces (the unit for weight) you are going to have precision issues unless you are measuring water to the second decimal point.

Here are some figures to help you plan your hanging weight:

    (1) - 1 Gallon jugs: 8.345 lbs
    (1) - 2 Liter Bottle: 4.4 lbs
    (1) - 1 Liter Bottle: 2.2 lbs
    (1) - 16 oz bottle: 1.05 lbs

You probably won't have to purchase more than 2 gallon jugs. You should be able to set up your first load with all of the weight, then step down the weight as you ride the fatigue; i.e. one of each container is 16 lbs, when you have to drop the weight you do the following

    - 1G, 2L, 1L, 16oz ≈ 16 lbs
    - 1G, 2L, 1L, ≈ 15 lbs
    - 1G, 2L, 16oz ≈ 13.8 lbs
    - 1G, 2L ≈ 12.8 lbs
    - 1G, 1L, 16oz ≈ 11.6 lbs
    - 1G, 2L, 1L ≈ 10.6 lbs

    And so on.

Gallon jugs make for a large load dangling from your penis, but it gets the job done.

Make sure you have enough plastic shopping bags to hold the containers. I lay the bottles on their side and tie a knot with a loop in the bag. This makes it easy to load the weight onto the clip and shortens the load so they wouldn't drag on the floor.

If you are really serious about exact weights, you could purchase an electronic postal scale and either measure exactly or remove water to get the precise weight you desire. But you have to pack that with all of your other PE gear.

    Hanging Variety while Traveling
If you are hanging SD there is not much to worry about.

If you are looking to do BTC, SO, or OTS then you have to come up with something else.

To hang BTC, I will lay on the bed with my butt hanging over the edge and place my feet onto a piece of furniture.

To hang OTS, I will use a zip tie to attach the pulley to the hanger rod. Thread a nylon line through the pulley and attach the weight. Attach the other end to your hanger while seated in the chair.

I prefer to use carabiners for the each end of the line and to attach the pulley using a zip tie.

Please post any innovative ways you have used to PE while Traveling.

The only thing I caution on is putting a pump in your luggage if you're flying anywhere. I put my pump in my suitcase when I flew to Hawaii 10 years ago and the air pressure broke the pump.
It's a tough job being good looking and hung :-)

Are you sure it wasn't the baggage handlers?!?

If I were in your situation I would consider buying the plastic pump for travel.

If you are going with the metal one, I would stick it in your checked bag. I think it would raise more questions in your carry-on.

If you're traveling and hanging and need to figure out how to do a set straight out you can use 5 zip ties and a door knob to get the right angle. IMAG0550 - Copy.jpg

This is a great post! If your equipment originally came in a case, keeping it in that case as you travel should minimize any problems. If you keep your equipment jumbled and untidy it can draw unwanted attention.
