The book I have coming next is 'The Penis Book' by Aaron Spitz MD. I think this one will be a little different as it claims to be about every aspect of penis health, not PE necessarily. As such I won't score it lower if it doesn't include much on PE, as it doesn't claim to be a PE book. Hopefully it's an interesting and informative read though. It's well reviewed on Amazon so I am optimistic, we shall see.

Alright, here we go with the next book to review, 'The Penis Book' (2018) Spitz M.D., Aaron
Screenshot_20200613-170512.jpg
The book states it is a reference book, which is borne out if you read it cover to cover as you notice some points are made more than once, which makes sense when you realise it's not really a book designed to be read cover to cover.
I did try to read it cover to cover and I did read a lot of it but I skimmed through a lot of the stuff that either wasn't relevant to me (at this time) or that I didn't find interesting.
In general it does read like a reference book, albeit one with an informal style. The author isn't as over the top with his language as King in the quite ludicrous 'Daring Diary of Dicks' but he does try to keep the tone more friendly and light-hearted than if this were a serious medical text book.
The book is in 3 main sections, the first is on how the penis works, the second is effectively on how to take care of it and the third is on relevant diseases and other penis related matters.
I won't list every single thing the book covers, but I did make notes (hey im trying to do this properly for you guys!) So I'll just cover what I made notes on.
So in section 1: 'how it works'
Spitz covers the anatomy of the penis in good detail, far more than I knew before and with his medical background you'd expect this area to be something he's strong on, and you won't be disappointed. He covers the mechanism behind ejaculation. Premature ejaculation and erectile dysfunction are covered. He mentions kegels and edging in those contexts.
Penis size is covered, what's average, standard deviations and where a penis has to fall to actually be considered really small (or big). At one point he suggests that you are basically stuck with whatever size you have - like I say this isn't a book on PE and here is the first sign of what the author thinks of PE.
Next he does move onto penis enlargement topics... Pills and supplements that are effective for EQ (usually by boosting levels of Nitrous oxide). I learned that L-Citcrulline enhances L-Arginine supplementation, which is interesting.
He covers the use of (air) Pumps and extenders, stating that they do have some limited usefulness, and that extenders work but only producing small gains.
Jelqing is dismissed as a waste of time.
He then covers Penis enlargement surgery and other cosmetic stuff like piercing.
(I noted that later in the book he says 'size enhancement does not occur to any meaningful degree for men with healthy normal erections')
Next up is Porn, which he (like many of us I think) regards as pretty damaging for men, by desensitising them to real sex and giving a warped sense of what are normal penis sizes.
In Part 2 - 'how to work it' he gives lots of detail on erectile dysfunction, covering causes, including a useful drug table (ones that are detrimental in various ED related ways). He discusses pills again (Viagra, Cialis, levitra staxyn, stendra and low testosterone.
Food for good levels of NO (for EQ) and a nice table of foods sorted by colour for various phytonutrients. He is big on diet and exercise and gives a lot of advice for penis health, probably applicable for general health too, including the good and things to avoid.
He explains the benefits of weight loss and exercise for EQ and testosterone.
He cites the benefits of kegels and how to perform them.
He gives his '5 step plan for maximum penis health'
1. What he calls 'FORK' diet
2. Exercise (body and penis)
3. Go porn free
4. detox from drugs and alcohol
5. Sleep
I noted that he has some nicknames for penis like 'Mr Happy' which I found got mildy irritating after a while.
The final Part 3 discusses various penis problems
Peyronie's disease and others, STI's, penis related
birth abnormalities, Micropenis and also covers gender reassignment surgery (both ways).
So overall I think this book is great. As I knew before reading it, it's not a book on PE. it does include some content on PE, though the author seems quite skeptical about the potential for results for guys with penises in the average range and with ok EQ. But as a manual on the penis overall I am very glad I have it, I can see me referring to it for advice on many different things if they become relevant and I already want to implement some of his diet and exercise advice. I think every guy could benefit from owning this book and particularly PEGymers with our interests quite penis-centric. I think this is worth a spot on your PE bookshelf, as an informal but informed guide to owning a penis.

Thanks for the kind words watersnake, much appreciated. If you have read any of the porn or otherwise PE related books, feel free to review them here - I hope people will do that when they've read something relevant to PE... So the rest of us know which ones might be worth our time and which 'books' are more like a long scam email in size 22 font and we should probably avoid!Originally posted by watersnake View PostYou are very well read, enjoying the thread. As a suggestion i have found there are many books about porn and related themes that we write about here; maybe you could review some of those to.

You're welcome, glad you enjoy itOriginally posted by Dance Sucka View PostThanks for making this thread! It's good to see that last book actually got a decent rating lol.
On the enlargement side, I'm disappointed that doctors continue to neglect medical evidence and don't give PE a fair chance.
Ha yea reading that one in public would definitely be a statement. Sadly in my cause it would be a fraudulent statement!Originally posted by JustALilMore View PostI saw this book while browsing for Dr. Spitz's book:

Ok, a quick review, 'cause that's all it requires.
owen-thomas-how-to-live-with-a-huge-penis-950x950.jpg
The book is not at all serious. The cover is aimed at being a conversation piece, and the contents:
Introduction: The Secret Shame
You Are Not Alone: Huge Penises in History
Dealing with Discrimination
Unzipping: Coming Out to Your Friends and Family
Care and Maintenance of Your Huge Penis
Sharing Your Pain: Sexual Intercourse with a Huge Penis
Big Blessings
Your Daily Affirmation Journal
...are just headline of the various humorous sections. The History section is pure farce, and the Discrimination and Coming Out sections are written like a self-help book, but again, just satire.
There is no useful information at all. I had hoped for something, at least, from Care and Maintenance of Your Huge Penis, but nothing.
I would rate it very low. From the perspective of this forum, maybe a 0. In terms of humor, 5/10. I might give it as a joke gift, but I could not imagine anyone paying for this for any real reason.03/2015 Start <Able to last ~ 2 mins PIV>

Thought I'd post to bring the book club to the attention of new members, lots of new members since the last post and maybe some of you have read (or are reading) books relevant to PE that haven't been reviewed here. If so do please share a review here of your thoughts on the content and how helpful it might be to other guys. The reviews don't need to be as long as some of mine have been, we've had reviews from other members that werent huge essays, it's all good.
I've been keeping an eye on what comes up on Amazon under relevant searches but tbh I havent seen much new stuff that looks worth reading recently. Most of it looks like the sort of low quality scam-books like some I've reviewed here earlier, and I've read enough of those!
I think the next PE book I will actually read will be Big Al's one. As above I've reviewed several samples of it that have been made available on here for free and to me it's some of the best writing on PE, both in terms of the content and the quality of the writing itself. So that'll probably be next.Last edited by Cpt. Jean-Luc Dickhard; 02-03-2021, 03:15 AM.'Things are only impossible until they're not'

Manhood Impossible:
Men's Struggles to Control and Transform their Bodies and Work
by Scott Melzer
2018, Rutgers University Press.
The author interviewed members of PE Gym and Thunder's Place in 2013-2014.
Here's the post he made here in December 2013 seeking interviewees for his book:
https://www.pegym.com/forums/site-an...wees-book.html
Scott Melzer is a professor of sociology at Albion College in Albion, Michigan. Manhood Impossible is one of those expensive university press books. I had to use my public library's interlibrary loan service to get a copy.
Melzer refers to both PE Gym and Thunder's Place collectively and anonymously as "The Penis Health Club" throughout this book and devotes a whole chapter to the subject. There are other interesting chapters on other subjects, but this one might be most interesting to members of these forums.
I have some difficulties with some of the social theories Melzer subscribes to. I think I would need to have some conversations with him to be sure I'm understanding him correctly. He refers to something called "toxic masculinity" which apparently may have legitimate and accurate usages. I don't think he believes masculinity itself is toxic, only that some definitions of masculinity can burden men in ways that cause them self-harm and also harm to others. You know, like the tough guy who beats his woman or in Melzer's own personal example, the competitive athlete who goes too far trying to be a strong man and does permanent skeletal system damage.
I would say this book is more ideological than scientific. Maybe. It's just not what I'm used to reading when I think of science. But I do understand that sociology is one of those soft sciences which is infected with philosophical and political theory.
So you might have to read around some of the theory to find the real value in his chapter on The Penis Health Club. You might find some of it irritating as I did
I don't read it as a harsh criticism of these forums. In fact Melzer finds value in the forums in the support men find in talking out some of their personal experiences and insecurities. I also think he gives a good documentation of the forums and much of what goes on here.
I always like to try to get an observers point of view of my own behavior and so I think it's healthy and interesting to get outsiders' perspectives from time to time.

Year of the Cock:
The Remarkable True Account of a Married Man Who Left His Wife and Paid the Price
by Alan Wieder
2009, Grand Central Publishing.
You think you might have a penis size insecurity? Get a load of Wieder:
Hillarious, intelligent, honest, personal, moving.
It should be a must read for anyone into PE. It's out of print, but used hardcover copies abound for low prices. It's also available on Kindle.
Alan Wieder is a successful reality television producer and writer. This book is his autobiographical account of his encounter with the Internet PE scene in about 2005 during a devastating divorce and an acute bout with obsessive compulsive body dysmorphophobia. The book was in part "writing therapy" as his therapist told him to find the funny in his situation.
2005 was the Year of the Cock in the Chinese zodiac, but this is not a New Age book.
Most of the book is not centered around the PE scene, but sets the stage for his arrival there. The wind up is wild and hillarious. The book is exceptionally well written. You can even still find some of his old posts on the PE forum he joined. His depiction of the Internet PE scene as he found it in 2005 is apt and hillarious.
I don't want to write any spoilers into this review. It's totally worth the read. I couldn't put it down. I just had to see how things were going to turn out for Alan Wieder. You'll enjoy getting to know this version of himself. Great read even for people not interested in PE.
