I've been thinking about this for a while, I'm a psychology student so I guess it's just how I think. But concerning PE, I'm interested in the Psychology behind it. Many people start with above average stats, and many continue past their goals. A common one is 8x6, but when reached many continue with PE. Not just in maintenance but in wanting to gain. Now with PE there are certain reasons to continue, to cememnt gains, for a healthy penis and so on.
One thread here got me thinking, in the thread the question was asked would you take one inch of gains immediately if it meant you could never gain any more. An interesting question. For me if I added an inch to length and girth I'd be over my long term gains, yet don't know what my answer would be to that question. Many people have a unit that could pleasure any woman better than she's ever had, yet they continue. Why is that?
It comes to mind that maybe our perception is skewed. Some eating disorders are caused my misinterpretation of information by the brain, they see themselves as fat even when they are unhealthily skinny, even when they can measure their body fat or waist size and see objective numbers prooving they are skinny. Yet they still see themselves as skinny. Is the same for us with our penises? Due to the small increments gains come in, without having photographs to compare starting and end sizes, it's often hard to see gains by looking without a ruler. Yet even when we get gains we still consider ourselves small. Like the other day I looked down and thought surely i'm bigger than that, i've recently measured my first gains of =0.35" length and some girth as well, and with the ruler I proved to myself that it was indeed my normal, increased size. why then do I still think that it's not big enough. Some members start with stats that are past the long term goals of other members, I saw one guy recently who was starting PE with over 8" length. What is it that drives us to want a bigger penis?
Theres a few approaches that say a few different things. Evolutionary scientists would talk about how a bigger penis gives a greater chance of passing on our genes since a bigger penis means less distance sperm need to travel to fertilise an egg.
A behaviourist approach might say that we do PE, we see gains, we feel better about ourselves, and we then are conditioned to continue doing PE because it makes us feel good about ourselves. This would suggest PE isn't about pleasing a woman per se, it's more about feeling good about ourselves.
Cognitive approaches would include the perception ideas talked about above, and could also include reasoning with ourselves- say you reach 8x6, well, you think to yourself 'thats me at 100% EQ, i'm not always going to be at 100% so i'll probably be a bit smaller than that normally, I should keep going so i'm consistently at 8" even when not at full EQ' or things like that.
It might even be that we are a little disbelieving at first, and as humans we're often driven towards the unknown and things we're unsure of, we don't know if this whole thing will really work for us, if it'll be noticible. We're provoked to try it out, we see others maintaining the routine and think we should do so too.
It could be the investment idea- we know it takes time to gain so we don't mind PE for a while, then even if we come up to our main goals, we think about how much time and effort, in some cases money, we have put into PE, and feel that that level of investment that we have put in deserves more PE than we orginally thought; we started, we may as well go the distance.
And of course there could be the social aspect of it; theres a lot of outsider pressure to be the perfect person, to have the right clothes a good body, and in our case a large penis. Being brought up in a culture filled with provocative media I can say personally that there is definately pressure to have a big penis even though its widely accepted that its how you use it that counts, a lot more than size. This could also be tied to the nature of this site- most people on this site are gaining, which makes our ideas of average size to go up. The collective membership of this site probably has a considerably larger average size than the rest of the population seeing as everyone on here is gaining and gaining, this might provoke us into thinking we are small in size. Again I can say this from experience, I've passed the 7" length mark which compared to my original ideas and average sizes is pretty decent, yet I see a lot of people on here much bigger and I feel like I should get bigger too.
So a thought came to my head in relation to the question before 'would you gain an inch in a day if you could never gain after that?', a slightly different question, 'would you keep gaining even if you were at a size that maximzed pleasure for a sexual parnter?'
These are just some of my thoughts, I realise this is more of a sililoquy, an inner discussion with myself, I just find putting my thoughts online helps me think rationally and in a structured way, if anyone else has any thoughts on the psychology of this then your perspectives would be very welcome
