Am I using the right lubricant??

Hi I have recently started using Paraffin gel as a lubricant. It is the perfect consistancy etc etc and works great for me but for the last few days I have been getting really itchy crotch and whenever I use the gel on my erect member I get a burning sensation. . . The ovbious answer is yes! Don't use it! But I recently had sex with a girl ( about a week ago , it was a one night stand with no protection (sigh) ) , so I don't know if the itchyness is an sti or if it's from the paraffin gel.. I am getting a check-up at the clinic asap , better safe than sorry ! Was just wondering if anybody experienced similar itcyness / irritation after using paraffin gel as lube. And/ or what would you reccomend as lube ? (And before you mention it I do usually practice safe sex , this was a one off mistake forgetting to use protection after a night out with a girl i met in a club) Thanks in advance for your oppinions and feedback

I am not familiar with the gel so I dont know what its main purpose is but ifit is perfumed or has anything to do with washing I wouldnt use it.

EDIT: That gel is for making candles, I would look for a lube or oil such as olive oil, baby oil gel or something like a water based sex lube. even vaseline is better than parrafin gel.

The gel I used was '' Ovelle Paraffin Gel '' It is used for dry skin, eczema and dermatits. It is basically a moisturiser. But it isn't suitable as lube as i have discovered haha. Baby oil sounds like the best bet!
