I have a lot to say about this and a bunch of other things but I am realizing more and more to just shut the hell up when it comes to political issues such as these especially since it always ends up with me debating leftist mods who would love to get me banned for being "argumentative". Ironically or not these political debates usually occur when I respond to your posts.

      "Leftist Mods"?
I don't think anyone has ever called me a leftist. But then I am an Administrator so maybe that's the difference.
To my knowledge, the PEGym has no position on the question of Global Warming.
Personally, I think the weather changes and that weather patterns change as well. Human activity surely is a factor in all of this, but, I think, the question is how significant a factor is it?
My guess is that it is not a very large factor. But then I might be biased as I remember Time Magazine reporting in the 70's all about the come Ice Age.

We have treated our earth horribly. What place can take so much abuse?

AS for the US, we are capitalists and people will make money off of the situation.

I do not believe it is all made up. I think it has been years and years of all kinds of abuse.

Sorry Misty, I tried to think up answers where at least ONE of them would work for a given person. You are a tough customer, eh?

I have not kept informed on this to be honest.

But just as a regular uninformed person, I can tell you when I have my AC on in my house at lets say 65 degrees and I get 20 people over for a gathering, it gets hot lol How can I fix it... I could add another AC unit, turn on some fans, insulate better, reduce the number of 98 degree people I invite over, not cook in the house or use other heating elements while everyone is here etc...

So I think the earth is spinning and its round and its core is hot as hell. I dont think the outter crust is getting too heavy, I think what happens inside the earth effects the outside. I also believe something is going to happen.

I watch financials. When insurance companies and states issue reports on hedging their investments and why, I figure they dumped some serious money to find that crap out. Insurance companies have been reporting on the water level rise for about 20 years increasing premiums by major percentages each year. State and fed's doing the same. Not sure who knew first but...

Yea I cant sleep sorry for long reply lol

I would like to share George Carlin's thoughts, " Global Warming; it sounds kind of nice. I like Green House Effect even better. It makes me want to plant some tomatoes."

PEskeptic, I'm not trying to belittle the topic and I think it's great topic to discuss with our world wide members and could prove to be very interesting and informative.

ColtAR-15, This only my thoughts and not meant to reflect on anything, but my thoughts. I am truly sorry that you feel you are not allowed to freely express your thoughts. It is possible to have a intelligent discussion with opposing views. An argument on the other hand is more about proving one is right and other views are wrong.

Global warming exist. There is plenty of evidence that these cycles are natural on earth. But Al Gore has a specific agenda. What exactly is it? we don't know. One aspect of course is making money from the topic but that is the tip of the iceberg. Bigger part of the agenda is a campaign for government expansion, population control towards a one single world order. No matter what humans do, global warming occurs naturally anyways. The planet is extremely smart. Even if we dump all our garbage on the streets, pollute the waters, infect the crops, degenerate animals and burn the Forrest, we will extinct ourselves in no time. However, after humans, the planet cleans and regenerate itself in a few thousand years. It becomes once again the garden of Eden.

In the US it's a very big debate. I didn't realize just how many scientific organizations believe global warming is a man-made phenomenon until I read some of that Wikipedia article.

There's a really strong sense of self and independence here that fuels the debate I think, for better or worse. Personally I understand some of the initial skepticism but reading that practically every reputable scientist agrees with it would persuade some people from the other side, you'd think. It can be pretty frustrating.

Does man's presence have an affect on this planet? Sure it does. To what extent? Well if we haven't figured out how to cure the comon cold due you really think we're smart enough to look at all the variables that have a role in climate change? I bet you that are aspects that "modern" science hasn't even thought of yet in regard to climate change. Should we run in and try to fix it before we really understand what it's all about? Man has tried this before always with terrible results.
Why is it always assumed that man's affect on this planet is always harmful? Nature can be pretty tough on the ole girl herself. Nature on it's own starts a few forest fires every year on her own. Man is just happy to put them out. What if man wasn't around? Let say you have 4 or 5 fires started by nature with no man to out them out. Instead of burning for weeks they burn for years. Nature would have started it's own nuclear winter. Now throw in an erupting volcano during that time and you's have far more pollutants in the atmosphere that man could ever produce. Far fetched yes but it could happen. Maybe we should learn more before we go half assed and screw things up even more than maybe we had.
The world's still a toy if you just stay a boy!
